Instead I did 4 days of walking around Venice in freezing temperatures followed up with a trip to Derbyshire and a walk around the hills of Castleton. Doh! I firmly lay the blame on my sisters family.
RedM
We've not had anything yet despite being surrounded by ill colleagues and ill family over Xmas. If only that kind of good fortune would apply itself in the direction of something useful like a Lottery win.

Dave17
Question, why does manflu always give me nosebleeds?
marcAB10
Yep, I'm in the final stages, just trying to get rid of the lasting cough. I was off work for a couple of days before Xmas when I fist got it, had really bad hot/cold sweats and a sore chest from coughing. Never good. Scott
Unbelievably i finished work on the 14th of december, i came back to work on the 5th and not once was i anything but tip top. When i got home after the monday my lips were chapped. Tuesday i felt a little rundown and really stuffy with a runny nose etc. Wed was pretty much the same but it didn't amount to anything luckily. Funny thing was, of all the time i was off i was fine. The day i come back to work i end up catching a bit of a cold. Luckily i managed to avoid the man-flu doing the rounds. Just for clarification, real flu i have seen (not had). If there aint no doctor callout or penicillin involved... it aint the flu!
ADL Mark
Unless you're very at risk there's no point in calling a doctor when you have flu, there's nothing they can do but tell you to drink plenty and take paracetamol. Penicillin wouldn't do anything at all, influenza is viral!

Yes, you've just got to sit it out. I started to feel the symptoms ten days ago and I'm just starting to feel better today. Penicillin wouldn't do anything at all, influenza is viral! It will help to get rid of a chest infection though, I didn't see the doctor this time but when the doctor came out twelve years ago when I was really ill with the flu he did give me some penicillin. Penicillin wouldn't do anything at all, influenza is viral! We have 2 google maniacs. Penicillin isn't a cure against the flu, its to ward off infection. Flu makes the body very ceceptable to infection. Thats why so many people die after conracting it. It wasn't from the actual flu it was from the infection that set in after contracting it. I guarantee you, if you catch the actual influenza, not the usual crap that people sport as the flu, you will need a visit from the doctor as you won't be able to move let alone come onto a website and bitch about it. I have only known one person to catch the actual "flu" without having a visit from the doctor and, as far as i can tell, that was because he had contracted it before. My cousin caught the proper flu when i was a young boy, he looked like an extra from the exorcist. Since seeing him that day i KNOW what the flu looks like in a person. ADL Mark
A chest infection is not the flu. My info is not from Google, it's from 9 months in hospital and knowing infections and immune systems incredibly well. I've had things that make the flu look like a runny nose and get very pissed off when people walk round sniffling claiming they have flu.
