Jezz
Cheers Daston. Any idea what model it was? UK's I think. All the Uk breakers i've had over the years have had dummy led units.
Branners
the early j-specs had dummy ones as well, like the very early ones.

mwilkinson
I read somewhere that with the UK spec, that at the time LED lights were not considered suitable for road use, or something similar??
Nic
I read somewhere that with the UK spec, that at the time LED lights were not considered suitable for road use, or something similar?? Yes LED's weren't legal back then, even rear LED lights on push bikes weren't legal.
Kev.O
UK's I think. All the Uk breakers i've had over the years have had dummy led units. Mine's a '95 UK and they work on mine. I don't think they've been retro-fitted.
Mike
dam it! I thought this was going to be *another* stupid question from Ed... like the time he asked about the boot release... :d
Ewen
Stupid random question from me. Are LED lights actually made of led ? Carlsberg don't actually do stupid Ed questions, but if they did...

juanchan
Mine's a '95 UK and they work on mine. I don't think they've been retro-fitted. JohnK's old white UK was a 95 and had a working central LED brake light, which he didn't fit in 5 odd years of ownership. Mine's now real, just need to rip out the interior to splice into the brake wire to make it actually work!
The Raven
Dan4 uk spec has a working led My Uk spec has a dummy So pass on that
Kev.O
Maybe it was something that was fitted to the UK's in the early part of '95 until they stopped producing them?
juanchan
I think 95 was about when LEDs became road legal in the UK.
Branners
I know its generally missing off the K plate j-specs, sometimes the early L plate j-specs too. Its generally missing off the L plate UK specs and some M plate UK specs. I think it must tie in to the UK legality of them. Not a simple retro fit either, the wiring simply isnt there, you have to run new wires I believe.

Homer
I know its generally missing off the K plate j-specs, sometimes the early L plate j-specs too. Not on mine. It was a 1st week production jspec and had the manf. date stamp on it to show April '93. Every jspec I've seen has had a rear brake light strip in place, only the UK models seem to miss them (IIRC it was some to do with the fog light requirement)
Rich8v
My 93 Uk has them. Probably been added on then.
