Met up with the owner today, great chap. Walked me through everything in and on the car and the history, then took me for a quick spin. No smoke from cold start, everything sounds sexy and looks great, and OMG does it fly!!!

Currently running around 450bhp with low boost but easily switchable to full-on (though I think il take my time on that one!)

That was 3hrs ago and im still grinning like hell :D

We talked it over, agreed a price and he's keeping hold of it till i source the funds in a few weeks.

Very nice spec mate and she looks clean. I'll admit I'm not too keen on the spoilerless looks but thats my own personal opinion. I know a lot of members have gone down that route.

I do agree with TooQuickToStop though, 650+ BHP on a 5 speed box does sound ambitious. Did he show you a dyno graph? It might be worth asking for one.

Good luck with the purchase though, I know you will enjoy it!

thats what i thought but said it was the loss of top end (no 6th and 180mph) that was the diff, again Im not going to buy unless he can proove what hes saying. Im also going to get my mate (toyota mech) to have a look at it with me one day before parting with the cash. And agreed on the spoiler, hes got one and if its any good il be adding it lol.

Ive seen under the hood and theres quite alot of evidence of work, either way though it flies and barring anything major I still think its worth it even if its running 450 or so.

Looking on pistonheads theres a vaguely similar one for £14k and this is much cheaper, hense my reservations about it, but im like a kid in a candy shop and cant stop being excited. Help me guys

lol was waiting for that.

Basically its an auto box aerotop, thinks its the RZ??

Then had a GZ twin turbo lump and box fitted into it coz he wanted the aerotop look so bad but the GZ lump. Then spent a whole lot of money on a supra specialist up country to upgrade it all to 600bhp. I think thats the right way round?

sorry if im getting this wrong, i am a newbie afterall lol

its defo a 5speed box, said it was stronger than the 6 and beter acceleration

I should be getting the list later on, can confirm it all then fingers crossed

5 speed NA box is rated for around 400ishbhp, 6 speed is rated over 1000bhp

the mk3 supra 5 speed though is rated at over 600bhp.

o god ok now im really out of it!

cant recal him saying it was a mk3 box. was talking plenty about making the engine upto 1000bhp but didnt want that and was happy with it as is. But that could be just the engine side of things not the box

engine pics....will do

well it'll be intersting to know as the car would have started out as an auto non turbo aero (no JDM manual aero's ever existed)

so who knows which 5 speed went in, quite suprising if it is the non turbo 5 speed box as it has obviously held up well, but it does depend on how it has been driven!

lol yeah im starting to get that sinking feeling for some strange reason lol

O well, beter now than after the deals done

sure thing,

we should probably stop speculating though till we see a spec list (got receipts?) and some more pics :)

Sounds to me like it was originally an NA (SZ model), but has had the TT engine transplant.

The 5 speed is not stronger than the 6 at all, and my money would be on it not lasting very long if those power levels are true.

Can we see the "very long engine spec"? I don't even see what turbo it's supposedly running, and by "uprated internals" he might mean new spark plugs :D

Sorry I'd avoid this one, things just don't ring true.

edit: one more thing, 658bhp, but only running ~450bhp at the moment? Sounds iffy to me.

you sound like that voice thats been nagging me in the back of my head lol.

Think he said the engine and box work was done by ultimate velocity or someone like that
