jimmy_supra
I have just insured my car with sky insurance, they have sent a letter asking for proof of security stating I need a cat 1 alarm for theft cover. So I need to get one fitted as soon as poss. What alarm would you recommend? Where would I be able to get it fitted in the chesterfield area? I have looked at a previous post along the same lines as this one and a few people recommended a mobile fitter on ebay but unfortunately he is no longer a registered user. Thanks in advance, any help and advice greatly received. Edited October 12, 2008 by jimmy_supra (see edit history)
robin
I just had to replace my standard UK alarm as it was dying. Went with a Hornet Maxx 1 in the end. £199 fitted and its Cat 1. Nothing fancy, it locks/unlocks the doors, comes with anti hijack etc and the range on the fob is superb.
dr_jekyll
for reliabilty reason i would allways reccomend the toad ai606. again straight forward cat one , door locking , interior ultrasonic movemnt sensors , boot and bonnet switches , and a batery backup siren , dose not have the ad on gimmicks of the cliffords or vipers , but unlike the competitors in the rang it will never go wrong or leave you stranded when the imobiliser jams on , failing the toad next best i would say is cobra , again , verry reliable

merckx
There are some fitted prices on Ebay for the Toad ai606, you're within the 100 mile radius of their location too and they have good feedback. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38.l1313&_nkw=toad+ai606 I fitted my own, totally reliable alarm.
