Nic
only one problem with the Fluidyne, is that you have to use the rad cap provided with it. I forgot about the rad cap issue, the only replacement rad cap I found that would fit was an ARC one.

bolarbag
I'll dig out my invoices for ya for when it comes time to buy a new Rad cap, the information quoted above is right, you cant fit stock fitting rad caps onto the Fluidyne, you need the more generic jap fitting for the aftermarket rad caps I'm sure its RX7,GTR e.t.c, regardless they fit perfectly and not an issue The Powerenterprise Rad is a biatch to use with the stock Fan Shroud
Nic
The Powerenterprise Rad is a biatch to use with the stock Fan Shroud Why? Mine fitted perfectly.
bolarbag
My bad got mixed up with the Power Enterprise Rad and PWR Rad:rolleyes: http://www.powerhouseracing.com/Merchant/images/products/tt/cooling/pwrrad.jpg I fail to see how the Power Enterprise one has any advantage over the Fluidyne if they are the same or near the same thickness, the cores cant possible be that much more efficient:search: I have heard various reports that the PWR radiator with it being a fair bit thicker is that bit more efficient than the Fluidyne and Koyo but as I mentioned, the stock fan shroud has to be cut Edited October 14, 2008 by bolarbag (see edit history)
Gaz Walker
The PE one is one of the best because its ARC made so therefore brilliant quality Gaz.
SilverSoop
I have a Greddy rad cap on my Fluidyne. Can the Fluidyne hold the pressure then because aftermarket rad caps keep pressure at 1.3 bar don't they??
Wez
I am guessing I can use the stock rad cap with the Koyo.

Lol, yes ofcourse, it would probably hold a lot more than 1.3Bar as would most rad's, it wouldnt the most efficient set up mind,
Marty
I am guessing I can use the stock rad cap with the Koyo. You need a Mk3 radiator cap for the koyo, something you need to bear in mind. Mine came back from its engine build with a mkiv cap which caused overheating problems along with head issues etc.
Gaz Walker
I am guessing I can use the stock rad cap with the Koyo. No - you need a Nissan type radiator cap for a Koyo - the one with a "thing" on the bottom. http://www.z1auto.com/images/cuscoradcap.jpg Gaz. SilverSoop
So what rad cap is recommended for a Fluidyne, or for that matter, any aftermarket rad??
Gaz Walker
So what rad cap is recommended for a Fluidyne, or for that matter, any aftermarket rad?? A Fluidyne comes with its own type, which I think is a Nissan style one also. Different brands have different ones but the most universal type is the Nissan style one. Gaz. Jazzy
I'm still a little unsure as to why people are saying to change the fluidyne cap that comes with the rad? It's rated at 16psi which is 1.1bar i.e. same as stock. Am I missing something?

SteveL
I run the Fluidyne, with no problems. Runs no higher than 96deg c on 1.7 bar GT4088R and sits behind a Greddy 3 row. (nothing sandwiched inbetween) This has run all day at track days and time attack event this year.
