Ian C
If you mean the metal inline one toward the front of the car - disconnect the fuel pump and try to start the car. This removes pressure from the fuel system so you should only get a bit dribble into your eye instead of a huge gush when you undo the nuts. If you mean the one attached to the end of the fuel pump, that's another story... -Ian
Matt Harwood
Where is it ?? I'm awaiting a barrage of pi*s taking like when Brad asked about spark plugs ! No offence Brad!
randy
Hey guys isn't the jap spec fuel filter much smaller than the UK/US spec? I tried to replace it with US spec filter but the connectors were bigger different thread. I would like to replace the entire fuel line with a stainless steel braided one from the fuel pump to the fuel filter and on to the fuel rail and run a bigger fuel filter. Someone please comment on whether this has any drawbacks?

Someone please comment on whether this has any drawbacks? No draw backs as you'll have to do it eventually to upgrade to a single/twins...no gains either till that time. Not worth it till then. IMO I'd save my money and do it all at once.

eyefi
i meant the little one under the passenger footwell. is the filter in the tank supposed to be changed? im sure ive read its not.
randy
It doesn't cost me much at all here as I will source the parts required locally and get it fixed by my mechanic. The reason behind this is to make fuel flow a bit better when under high boost - Like the Fuel Pulsation Dampener mod. Martin and Gavin why are you always trying to be cocky with your .00002c worth comments! Well you know where you can stick it!

Leave the one in the tank alone....Ian is trying to confuse you with his new knowledge of what sits in the fuel tank! Slapped wrists for him! The fuel filter doesn't cost that much and I believe only needs to be changed every 60,000 or something like that.

First explain why you want to do something and how you propose to do it in the same post. It makes it a lot easier to give a constructive answer when people have the full information. Secondly, please start your question in your own thread. Highjacking another thread rarely leads to both parties getting there questions resolved. Peace

Dragonball
Gavin / Ian Leave the guy alone - no need for the comments! We had the same thread / conflict last time eh? You have both forgotten more than most people know about the car - no need to even mention whether what he wants to do is right or wrong Paul:cool:

Dragonball
Randy Take no notice m8 - I was told before I came on this forum (from some who won't come back on for this very reason) that there are always going to be a few 'know it alls' who have nothing better to do then wind people up! Obviously come across this now Take no notice and if you feel strongly about it - report it to Branners for moderating:thumbs: In the meantime Syed - you are starting to get me just a tad 'disquieted' so please leave it out - OK? Syed Shah
Far enough, i'll leave Randy to this own devices. N.B don't bother giving people advice on thier cars if its just going to be a waste of your breath.

I would take issue with on one point however. Are we really sure that people don't want confirmation that what they are doing to theirs cars is either good, bad or doesn't help them towards their goals....
