Charlotte
The descent is on tonight as it happens, one of the best scary films I think. I literally jumped out of my seat at the first 'surprise'.

AndrewOW
The "interruptions" will spoil it though won't it Don't they always?! Why can't they put the adverts before the start of the film and then after, even if there are more of them to make up for it? That would've helped F1 too IMO. Scott
Was it a monkey? Yeah, a monkey and a cat lol. I think it was a deleted scene though. Not sure if it is shown in all versions of the movie. Spliced a monkey and a cat together IIRC. Turned it into an inside out monkey-cat.

AndrewOW
Yey another thread with spoilers but no warning. Well, I can see what you mean, but these are pretty old films, and have to assume that quite a few people have already seen them. Pssst, 5 1/4 Shhh though When I started my first job the floppy disks were 8", and I think they only contained a few hundred kilobytes too. Rubbish! michael
Descent 2 trailer looks acceptable enough: http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/the-descent-2/trailer (Bit NWS due to gore) Distraught, confused, and half-wild with fear, Sarah Carter emerges alone from the Appalachian cave system where she encountered unspeakable terrors. Unable to plausibly explain to the authorities what happened - or why she's covered in her friends' blood - Sarah is forced back to the subterranean depths to help locate her five missing companions. Obviously the main thing with the first one was the "unknown" element to it all, now that you know what's down there does that make it better or worse? michael
Yes, but then any claustrophobic, dark, not knowing what's round the next corner type of suspense horror 'appeals' to me! Looks like it's out in December here, raises a few questions based on the ending and happenings in the first one (which I won't go into for fear of spoiling it for anyone) but as it happens immediately afterwards rather than months later I guess the basic storyline isn't too impossible. It seems plausible for a change. The time taken between each film gives me some hope too. Usually as soon as a movie makes a few bob they try to churn out sequel after sequel until the fountain dry's up *cough*Saw*cough*. Hopefully its not just an afterthought and they have taken some time to think out the plot. Can't view the trailer in work but i'll check it out when i go home. The original is easily one of the scariest movies i have ever seen.
