Thorin
Mirrors looks like it could be good, reminded me of some bits from Poltergeist from the trailer!
jim_supra
I always thought ''The Changeling'' was pretty scary. although it has been a good few years since I last saw it.

jim_supra
I thought Blair witch was pretty Scary. (Its the old 'Not what you see, but what you think you see' trick) The bit that I found most scary about that film was where they were in the tent in the woods and then someone started banging on the side of the tent. Mike
I thought Wolf Creek was pretty scary. I quite liked Hostel 2 in a comedy kind of way... it's so over the top!? Also Creepshow 1&2 are favourites (George Romero and Stephen King short story collaboration)... just for 'Fathers Day' in the first one and 'The Hitchhiker' in the second one... thanks for the ride lady! Seb
Thanks for all the suggestions, guess I must have seen just about all the good horrors out there as a lot of those are favourites of mine too. Out of all the stuff mentioned the few I haven't seen are Silent Hill, REC (bought a copy last night), Audition, The Eye, Wolf Creek and a couple of others so will give those a try. MrRalphMan
I would say the SAW movies would be a good place to start for a noob to horror movies I didn't really think they were scary... Cring worthy, but not scary.
Mike
I didn't really think they were scary... Cring worthy, but not scary. ..more 'tourture porn'...
tbourner
Darkness falls was scary, I love the JDM versions of dark water, ring, the eye, and grudge as well - much better than the US ones. Scariest for me was event horizon - but I was 12 and we were in a pitch black scout hut at the time late at night. I won't watch mirrors, they are the scariest things in films!! Pabs
I thought Blair witch was pretty Scary. (Its the old 'Not what you see, but what you think you see' trick) Ah give over mate - I found the "erotic witch project" more scary than that
MrRalphMan
BWP was pants in my eyes... Still haven't found enough enthusiasum to watch it all the way through
VIL
I still think `Blair Witch` was one of the best for sheer edge of your seat uncomfortable viewing (must be watched on your own in the dark at midnight!!) My favorite however is 'Event Horizon'....excellent!!
chainy
What lies beneath with Michelle Pfeiffer and Harrison Ford I thought was a good film.
Seb
I didn't find BWP scary at all - I was more bored than scared.

michael
thought id bring this thread back into action! CHUCKY! nothing could beat that. You brought the thread back to life to say Chucky is the scariest horror film? Have you seen any others?
Animal
Lol, Child's Play. I found that on DVD a few months ago for 2 quid. For me, it would have to be the George Romero zombie films, Evil Dead 1 & 2. The first few Friday the 13th & Nightmare on Elm Street films were okay too. I always enjoyed the silly over the top horrors like the Troma films (Class of Nuke 'Em High, Toxic Avenger), Street Trash, Braindead, etc.
SteveR
You brought the thread back to life to say Chucky is the scariest horror film? Have you seen any others? lol the Chucky films were comedies, weren't they? I didn't think they were meant to be genuinely scary, they're too rubbish! Now, this looks really scary http://www.lesbianvampirekillersmovie.co.uk watch the trailer!
RiceRocket
Only the Ring (JDM) got my heart thumping over a 100bpm , most horror movies are just gory.
supra_aero
I have seen tons of horrors and my top ones for gore are; saw 4 28 weeks later Most disturbing horror films I have seen are; hills have eyes wolfcreek These last 4 films put me off horror films, they are that disturbing to your mind. They are the only films I couldn't watch in 1 sitting (i.e. without making an excuse to pause it or make a phone call or leave the cinema to use the toilet - c'mon I know you all do it as well)
DanGX
Cabin Fever is pretty good for a low budget movie. And it's got that Ryder Strong guy from Boy Meets World for anyone who remembers it. The scariest movies for me were the Grudge and the ring. Just teh way the girls move in teh film (like they've got a bad case of rigermortis) creep me the fork out. ANd in the grudge, the noise she makes. When I watched the ring the first time. I feared the phone for a week! When I watched them with my girlfriend, she laughed! Let me explain. She's chinease and she supposedly used to watch this kind of stuff as a kid, supposedly the chinease/japanese stuff makes anything that comes out of the US/UK look like a teddy bears picknick with the Carebears. Speaking of which, they are scary, too.
