Benzsupra
I know there's loads of posts about the quality of work (or lack of) at kwik fit and i've never trusted them but the bloke who had my car before me did... When i bought it he said the air con had just been re-gassed there and had all the proof, i knew this would lead to problems somewhere and i've just found out where. They have over gassed and burst 3 seals and damaged the dryer. I've just found an air con specialist in Chertsy and he really knows his stuff and for what he's doing i think his prices are reasonable too. So if anyone around this way is looking for an air con specialist i got details of a good one. Don't use Kwik-Fit !!!!!

tbourner
I only ever used them for oil changes cos they were cheaper than doing it myself. I always watched them in the garage though never just sat in the waiting room - suprised they never had a go at me actually!
tony1
How you doing Benzsupra? I live in Shepperton which is right next to Chertsey and need to get my air con sorted. So if you recommend them, could you let us know there details. Thanks Tony
ManwithSupra
The company name "Kwik Fit" has always made me laugh the name does not exactly inspire quality work does it...we will fit it quick !! (quick usualy means that things are overlooked) anyone can fit something quick....does not mean it will be a good job. I went to Kwik Fit once in my runabout to fit a replacement exhaust, came to my MOT and it failed due to inproper fitting of the exhaust ! Needless to say when i phoned them to complain there was no apology and they said "we cannot guarantee the work done" i wrote a letter to their headquarters but never got a reply.... I will never use them again, i now buy all the parts for my runabout and fit them myself, didn't fail after that. heartworm
It took them 4 to 5 hours to fit a corsa exhaust, and after that they used the wrong size and it was blowing, ill never use them again, especially as it turned it the exhaust wasn't the fault at all. Never trust Kwik Fit, or the AA again.
Todd
Don't know how they could manage that, they connect it to a machine and do nothing else, it's all automatic? ---------------- Now playing: Depeche Mode - Suffer Well

Benzsupra
Don't know how they could manage that, they connect it to a machine and do nothing else, it's all automatic? I thought the same but if they put in the wrong make of car or something this is what happens. Probably put it in as a Celica or something knowing them. Todd
you still got the receipt, should tell you how much they put in. Should have been 700grams
Benzsupra
Nah i binned it, didn't seem like a worthwhile keepsake, if i come to sell the supe on then i don't want whoever get's it from me to think that's how i looked after it! Todd
Shame as if they had put to much in then you could have claimed the costs all back. Moral of story, always keep your receipts

benkei
Have you seen the adverts for when they have an offer on tyres? Usually Bridgestones, where you buy 4 tyres for the price of 3? Usually works out more expensive than getting all 4 tyres done elsewhere!
Todd
Go back to the branch and ask to see the settings they used, they keep them on record
RICHARDA
Don't bank on it. Shit-Fit use a plug and play machine (should be fool proof) that can print out the requirments for your vehicle. They should also hand write the info on the customers air con info sheet/receipt. Good luck.

Not fool proof, as discussed above, they have to put in the right vehicle to start with, machine does a print out at the end that gets handed to customer to keep. Kwik Fit have to keep a record of this as well, this I know for a fact ---------------- Now playing: Depeche Mode - John the Revelator
