Hello to all ! I'm a new Owner of a Supra Non-Turbo aerotop.

The previous owner had a sports Air filter fitted.

Now the filter itself has got holes in it. I need to change it! I can't find it in normal stores as it is not an original air box.

I would like to know if somebody could tell me where to buy either a normal airbox + air filter OR another Complete Sports Air filter OR if it is possible to find, just the air filter to replace mine in this Sportsair filter.

Hope it makes sense... :-/

Second question is the noise made by my brakes.

Everytime i take the car for a drive, for the first two minutes it's fine but then (I suppose when the brakes get warm) it makes a strong noise everytime i hit the break. If I press it quite hard, it doesn't make it, but in a City center, when you have to break little by little, the noise is always there and quite loud & annoying.

Is it definitely the brake pads to change or could it be some dust that is rubbing against the brakes because it gets hot?

Thank you very much for your help.

Have a good day!

Geoff

Thank you very much for your (very) quick answers!

You're great! i wasn't expecting an answer so quickly!

I will take a picture and post it in the evening!

Do you think it will cost more than £100 ? and where could I find some?

For the pads, I will do that today, i think i will have time. i'll take a picture as well and post it here.

thank you very much again.

Regards,

Geoff

you probably have aftermarket pads and this is the way they behave my new GTR is the same....

Oh you have a new GTR do you? I predict more posts from Jurgen, "yeah I have those same tyres on my new GTR", "very nice, same colour as my new GTR", etc. etc.

Stop showing off. :p ;)

the way you describe your pads noises it points to aftermarket pads, and the only solution is to replace with stock pads to eliminate the noise.

as for air filter the element can cost from 25 to 40 pounds and the box will depend on breakers at a guess £40- £80

Do you know where i could find the pads and the air filter?

Internet is the best solution for the air filter I think, but where?

If you want, I allow you to post on MY post a picture of YOUR NEW GTR ;-)

I have TRD pads in stock, I can also supply new airfilter. Can you post a photo of your current filter?

it's quite big actually...

And as you can see, not in a very good state!

Could that be the main reason why the petrol consommation has gone up a lot ?

That filter looks like mine [greddy] i think. if you take it apart inside is like a sponge,

and not a paper filter.

Is there anything special I can do if it is ?!

I'll check this evening if the weather is OK

 what kind of special things are you hoping to do with your filter element?

Well "Snake" told me inside it looks like a sponge, maybe i have to change that or i don't know.

I would rather get a new one, but i don't know if i have to buy the same size etc...

Right, I missed the bid for the air filter, can't connect to Ebay at work...

I don't mind going for a sports one, now i don't know which one to get. i don't want any cheap one, but not over £100 as i'm not looking for performances either.

Anyone could guide me towards a good one as there are plenty of them on ebay...?

Thank you

Will this one fit?

All the APEXI, K&N are more than £100

Thanks for your help on this.

If you could find a good one that would fit and for under £100 that would be great

Thanks

Geoff

Can i jump on the band wagon here? I can hear a ringing sound coming from my rear wheels when i drive between 20-40mph, any faster and it seems to go. Can anyone tell me what it may be, and how i can get rid of it?? Other than driving above 40 all the time.
