Starter motor..

probably less hassle to get the one for 80quid buddy!

still has to get the old one out!

I got the kit just before I killed my supra and it cost me £16 from toyota.

Once the starter is out, its a 5 min job to swap the parts over. If you are DIY'ing it you do need 2 or 3 bendy sockets and several extentions to get the top bolt off... (another quality design, just like the heater matrix!:taped:) It can be done without any.. as I did, but I had 4 long extensions and only just managed to get the socket on! you cannot get a spanner on it... I tried... from every conceivable direction and position! :D

is when you dnt have the tools to do it, a mechanic friend told me last night its most probably the bushes, give it a smack with a hammer, may work for a bit.

has anyone got a good picture of where it is so i can give it a bash

your mechanic mate obviously knows his supras :search:, the common failure is the solenoid contacts eventually erode away, bashing the motor will do absolutely nothing (other than potentially damage it), you need to read the guide i posted, you will find the parts to do then job cost £18 from Toyota so its hardly a bank breaker
