Who Regrets Selling their Pride & Joy

As some of you know I sold my N/A supra several months ago which was absolutely mint and to this day, I still regret selling it.

Everyone that sees me about still asks me about my Supra or my 328 and if I have still got either of them...where are they?:The BMW was an amazing car and I don't think I have ever got over writing that off also, still to this day!...I have nightmares about it sometimes and start twitching just thinking what a beautiful car I lost.

So from a 2.8i up to 3.0i, down to 2.5i now is really frustrating not to mention the quality of the previous cars to what I'm driving now.

I know I'm probably being a little pety, but does anyone else regret selling their pride and joy and wish they hadn't?

And for those people that said you would regret selling it......you were right :innocent:

Hindsight is a wonderful thing!

I kind of do but then I'll do 650 odd miles between fuel stops and then I find I'm pretty okay with it.

I was never too fussed with the fuel for the Supra or any car really, I always use V power whenever possible. But saying that, the new air filter I just put on the current BMW sounds really good and gives better performance, however I decided to uninstall it as I was losing at least 8-10mpg. So it's back to standard operation.

My old civic is being stripped and scrapped and I do feel quite sad about it, I had some great times with that car(and in it :sly: ) but funds won't allow me to rebuild it.

reminds of another mistake I made, by not buying the BMW back after I wrote it off. I bet someone fixed it up and it's out there somewhere or maybe they stripped it and made a nice little packet on it, which is what I should have done.

I'm very happy about selling my black tt6 to JamieP because I like what he's done with it.

Occasionally I regret selling my blue vvti single to SteveR, usually when I see pics of it. Most of the time though I'm quite happy with my M3, it's not as fast in a straight line but in every other way I can of think it's a better car than any Supra I've owned or driven - and that's lots.

Steve's Supra is quite a special one IMO. Probably the newest 6sp single in the UK and has lots of quality parts on it. The M3 on the other hand is bog standard and no different from thousands of others.

TRUE - I think the Supra has more character IMO.

I was actually quite happy too about the new owner, as he spent quite a bit more on it straight after I sold it to him, by adding a leather interior and also spending quite a bit to get it regsitered so I hope it's still in good condition.

I've only ever sold cars to buy something better / newer / less miles, so no regrets so far. May be different with the one I have now though, whatever I get next would have to be very special, and yes I would miss her a lot.

It seems as from when I wrote off the BMW, the car situation went downhill. But Im being very patient...and expect that my next one will be frightfully better.

The only car i ever regret selling was a black RS500, i had it for a couple of years and sold it far to cheap when i look at the prices of them now.

Its a car id like to own again when im settled in a house im gonna stay in and got a big enough garage.

:( Don't go there, every day I miss my pride & joy.

I have a picture of my Sup in my office that I look at every day. Few of the guys at work often ask why I torture myself by having the picture up......fond memory's is my reply :)

Only thing I don't miss is the running cost's (reason for selling up) but I know at some point (once my finance's are back in order due to job) I shall be on the look out for one again ;O) - been plenty for sale in the last few months on here.

I wish I could've kept Mertoc...especially as an owner down the chain wrote him off!

Me and Char were talking about that recently... that car really was mint.

Wish we'd have had it off you at the time.

edit : or Lewis - now there is a guy who can detail a car!

I don't think I could ever sell mine now. I've gone through the whole "writing up the advert" thing twice now and not managed to sell her. I'll just keep taking care of her until she's a true classic and I don't have to pay for tax anymore... if I can indeed find any petrol when that happens.
