What am I doing wrong?

If I leave the PC on mkivsupra.net for a while, all the unread posts stuff gets unset.

I want it so that if I don't look at a thread, it leaves it unread and I can pick it up from where I left off, in a day or two if I so desire. Then, if I get too much backlog I just mark all posts read.

(& I can't see anything to do this in User CP/Options)

Thanks,

Your cookie keeps expiring old threads. If theres an option you can change in the settings to change that I dont know about it. I think its tough :)

Its all based around your last activities. Theres like a 5-10 mins delay, for example if I log in and theres 50 new posts and do nothing, come back to pc 10 mins after, they've all cleared down even though I havent read them.

It's based around how long the server is set to keep sessions open for. At busy periods it may reduce this time as it is limited to the number of sessions allowed to open at any time. All uses server resources you see.

Typically this period is set to 20 mins on IIS, can't remember on Apache - but it's configurable anyway.

Anyway - I agree, it would be nice to be able to tag threads which you wanted to read later. In you User CP you can watch threads you've contributed to already, but not ones you haven't.

Nope - that's bollocks. I've just worked it out.

When viewing a thread click "Thread tools" then "subscribe to this thread" - it'll appear in your UserCP to read later :)
