Buying a TV, need recomendations

Status, inches are the new bling.

This is true, all my mates have 42" and above but I went for a 37" as my living room is narrow and the TV is on the wall above the fireplace.

Due to this lack of size, I am now unattractive to women and couldn't satisfy a polo.......:(

Although I can revel in the fact that Jefferson and SteD have gone blind.....;)

I always thought that Plasma's were not the way to go, you seem to be turning me around.

Altho the one bit confusing me is the contrast ratio. For LCD i was looking at Dynamic contrast of 50,000:1 now the Plasma has like 20,000:1 but its called something else. Does this equate to better/worse yadda yadda yadda

AVforums is the best place to look for answers. You will end up coming to the same conclusion though:

>37" = Plasma

Basically LCD takes longer to change pixles so if you go with a big screen you end up with trails. Plasma used to be the one to be warey of, the technology has came so far that its the one to go for now.
