johnd-mkiv
Driving home last night had a little play with a new bmw, when my boost started to drop off then no noise from the screamer pipe. After trying a few attempts to work out if it was a boost leak or not I could see it would boost to .5 bar an hold which makes me think its not a leak but poss something gone wrong with the wastegate? running a PHR gt60 turbo with HKS wastegate any ideas? thanks
mikeyb10supra
I was going to say the wastegate has seized and stuck open but im not sure I have seen an HKS fail before. I guess there is always a first time. I take it the car feels like 0.5bar as well when being driven? That will then rule out a faulty gauge? bromy
What size spring is in your wastegate? if it is a 0.5bar spring check your BC and all pipe work
johnd-mkiv
The car is lacking power big time not sure on the wastegate spring size think it may have been .7 .8bar seems strange that the screemer pipe is not venting which makes me think something is up there. all can hear is the turbo spooling but no gradual venting from the screamer pipe like before need to get this sorted before next weekend as im racing it at Marham
