Adam Kindness
decided to have a look myself... Didnt take the turbos off, just the pipe work/ heatsheild etc the blades seem ok on the intake side of the first turbo (one nearest front)
Dragonball
Shouldn't there be a car or something attached to that? Just asking like... LOL Paul:cool:
Alex
They are in better shape than mine but I believe the exhaust side is the first to go!
Branners
Yep, the exhaust side on ceramics just destroys itself, more often than not all that is left is the shaft, no blades or spindle, just a nice metal shaft (and a few bits of turbo stuck in your cat if you still had one. Ian C
Did you manually spin the turbo? Grab the nut and twist (as I tell women all the time) and check for inertia, lateral play, and smoothness. It's hard to get across how much inertia a j-spec turbo should have, especially in text, but if you give it a spin and the blades continue to rotate for more than a turn, you may have no impeller blades... And thanks for confusing me by supplying a picture rotated 90degress clockwise -Ian
Adam Kindness
i did spin the blades.... and if i remember correctly they seemed to spin fairly freely..... but i cant exactly remember Im just going to give it over to a decent garage and let them pull their hair out
