Bobbeh
Does it actually work at all, or have you just got a dodgy copy? You may have dirt/dust on it, give it a wipe and your PS2 a blow down
Scoboblio
I keep getting this with mine (does it on any game though), a few open / closes of the draw and a bit of sharp blowing (oo-err) usually sorts it out.
RobSheffield
allegedly its a common problem - there is a link below to help you strip down the PS2 to clean the laser with surgical spirit (only got Vodka - hope it works). alegedly we should contact Sony, who, for the price of shipping, will replace the laser unit - yeah right! http://www.classicplastic.net/dvgi/eventsfeaturesIMPORTPS2cleaning.htm edit: this works, if you have a problem, it takes 20 minutes to fix. Pete
My copy arrived - hoorah! First outing - Toms GT Supra around the Nuremberg Ring...It took me something like 7 mins to do ONE lap!
Bobbeh
the Nuremberg Ring Where? 7 mins around the NURBURGRING is pretty good, but you were in a touring car
tbourner
http://www.classicplastic.net/dvgi/ps2open09.jpg The little white dial at the back of the tray. This is what Sony adjust if you send it to them to 'repair'!! It adjusts the height of the laser, put it down a bit if you've had your PS2 on it's side as this isn't very good for it and the laser 'sags' after time. MONKEYmark
my mate chips them and its a common problem, when they not loading you can strip it down and use vacum with brush attatchment, suck all dust out of fans, and use soft paint brush you clean all dust from mother board. it works on old psx i used to clean laser and fine tune it to load games like rage racer with big demo on front end to get a smooth playback.
