Exhaust fitting

I was just wondering before i get my nur spec in a few weeks, well at xmas:)

Can the exhaust and decat be fitted by using a jack or will i need ramps as i intend to do it myself?

I would put it into a garage but i dont really trust the local ones(kwik fit, etc)and i dont think they will be open at xmas:D

Any input appreciated greatly as always:)

Jack it up high and fit it on axle stands, do the rear too. The first decat, assuming its TT, will be difficult, get some extended sockets and a wibble bit so it fits snug. Make sure its all the way over the nut before undoing otherwise you'll round the nut off and swear alot. A breaker bar is ideal to crack the nuts but space is limited. You might need a grinder if its a stock exhaust for the cat/midpipe flange bolts, mine were on good and proper!

IMHO, book it into a garage and sit back and wait. It'll save you a load, not just money, but effort and stress. If they get a problem they have to fix it, if you come across one its down to you to fix. For the amount its worth Id chuck it to someone else.

Yep at the same time. I had mine up at the same time when lifting the engine out, slightly lower at the rear but damn high at the front.

Just take your time and make sure its safe. Oh and get a creeper if you can, your back will get roughed up!

'Plus Gas' is a good call, a few hours before you start to take the old exh off, I soaked every bolt in the stuff and it did seem to work

Have you replaced the 1st Cat with a De-Cat too? If not, watch out for the bolts that join the first to the 2nd Cat, my 'flexy' section cracked when trying to undo these bolts

Ive not touched the original exhaust as of yet.

I was going to change the 2nd cat(i think) and the system at the same time and leave the first cat in place

Is this the right thing to do:)
