hogmaw
This is for the 40th birthday of a friend of my missus. The guests will all be a bit posh but being the awkward person I am I want to wear something slightly different to the 'masked ball'. Suggestions other than those pictured are welcome, otherwise let's vote on it!

Tannhauser
Stick a biscuit tin on your head and sellotape a sign to your chest that says 'Norwegian Bus Conductor'. That will keep them guessing. For further confusion, hand out pictures cut out of the Argos catalogue.

hogmaw
Thanks everyone. I have taken your advice and got myself the gimp mask. It arrived today in the post, and everyone I have shown it to so far is very jealous.
caseys
How about a hockey mask? Of course you need to take along the obligatory machete. Or a welding mask? *edit* whoops, should've read to the last post I guess!

hogmaw
I had kind of yes, and Number 2 was my fave and it appears that everyone agreed. I will also be wearing at under my helmet at the track day on Saturday, for extra protection.
heckler
one of these http://www.jesseshunting.com/images/gas-mask-avon-m10%20NBC-british-front.jpg I've got one, fairly comfortable, even comes with a drinking straw and matching water bottle so you never need to take it off to drink... ivan
But a pain to wear for long periods Si unless you empty out a spare canister and use that. (My Sgt Major twigged I had done just that and hit us with a CS stick on a replen one exercise. I stood there grinning like a tw@ until I realised which canister I had fitted. )
hogmaw
The gimp mask went down quite well in the end. I'm the one on the left, in case you're wondering
