Spooky indeed and made me recall a similar thing that happened to me.

My daughter and I were driving down atwisty country lane one dark night; we came round a bend and she shouted look out!

In the road was a rtall lady dressed in 1940's /50's style clothes.

I tried to miss her but as we hit her she vanished.

W e both saw it and have never explained it too this day.

W e did find out sometime later that a woman had been killed there by being knocked down!

There is usually a plausible explanation as to what happened. Some people can be very suggestive to things they see and hear: it's how hypnotism works. I'm not rubbishing your story because I don't know the people.

I don't think it can be explained when two people witness this together .

Why? Depends how clear it was. If they could describe their clothing and the look on their face then maybe (but then again, would one just be saying yes regardless and the other having his brain fill in the blanks?), but if they said there was a figure in the shape of a man then that's a little different.

Could be an optical illusion, rain on the screen and lights on the road, a shadow on the windscreen, both could have been tired, both could have been breathing petrol fumes, any number of things could have 'looked' like a person and both people in the car would have seen it.

An important factor in all these stories where the above can be an explanation is the fact that our brains are "hard-wired" to seek out and recognise human faces and forms. We do it all the time, with cars, with the moon, with people seeing Jesus in a piece of wet plaster or an evil face in the smoke of 9/11, and it comes from our infancy where we seek out the face of our mother.

I always look at it from both aspects...

a) the complex human mind doing things we don't yet understand and, don't forget, it controls everything we experience as electrical pulses of data, so when it does something weird, we "see" it and "hear" it so from our perspective, it definitely "happened" because we saw it.

b) there really was the spirit of someone hanging around in the road at the place of their untimely death stuck between this world and the next.

I know which I think is most likely.

This video is creepy, basically, the story behind it is that the police turned up to the scene of an accident where the two people in the front were both dead but there was ONE passenger in the rear who was alive but unconcious, they saw he was holding a video camera so they played it back and this is what they saw:

Oh it's the shortened version though the full one is quite long.
