Ythomit
I have an imported auto. Driving along singing to myself, suddenly spotted my turning to the right coming up too fast. Checked the mirror to see nothing behind, so hit the brakes but overshot the turning by 10 feet. Started to reverse then spotted a car behind coming round the bend so rather than brake then change gear, I pulled the leaver into Drive intending to turn right pronto. The car began to move forward but spluttered a bit, then the electrics died. I had enough forward momentum to coast off-road to the left. Complete blackout, nothing worked. Checked battery leads etc. After about 5 minutes I phoned a neighbour to give me a tow and whilst I was talking to him, I noticed the demobiliser light start flashing on the dash. The power had returned of its own accord. Any suggestions as to what may have happened ?
Konrad
Battery clamp loose? Clean battery terminals and clamps and tighten them properly.
Ythomit
Battery clamp loose? Nothing mechanical that I can find. I've been through it with a fine-tooth-comb. Putting it in Drive whilst going in reverse couldn't cause the imob to do something daft could it ? Trouble is I'm nervous about taking it out now
