add heywood
The lights around the heater blower, blower direction indicator, rear window heater, air conditioning etc don't work until I put my lights on hten they all come on fine. Surely this isnt right I cant tell whats on etc unless my lights are on. Any ideas on what might be causing this issue? Cheers
Luka-P
The leds are independant, these are status indicators. The backlighting on the buttons etc will only come on when your lights are on.
dan4
does he mean the lights around the blower speed that are ment to dim when lights are on? i.e. the speed indication of the blower not the pale green backlight illumination that occurs when lights are turned on
add heywood
Apologies for not being clear. I mean the green lights (led's, status indicators) that show how fast the blowers are on, that indicate if you have your rear heater, air con etc, not the backlight. They do not work unless the backlights are on aswell. Edited September 28, 2008 by add heywood more precise decription (see edit history)
Luka-P
If you have a look on Hecklers LED conversions you'll see there are a few resistors which need swapping, if you then compare these to yours to make sure their integrity is ok you may be able to find a fault. It may just be a dry solder joint.
georigg
If you have had the dash off recently or in the past, check that the plugs at the back of the heater/AC panels(two plugs each with about 12 separate contacts on each one) are fully in. After fitting my new radio about three months ago, recently the rear screen heater would not work nor would the indicator lights for that side of the push buttons. One plug had not been fully located home........simple fix! Rgds George
