Guest the_boy
Apologies as this may be a bit of a daft question.. I've been speaking to this guy about buying his imported car. It's a 2006 model which he has imported himself when he moved back from Japan. He's currently waiting for the 1 year ownership to expire so that he doesn't have to pay the duty. Anyway when I asked him about the tax he replied: Regarding the VED, I think the way it works is that for SVA, they do not do the environmental stuff so the car falls in two bands, one below 2l and the other above 2l. So he reckons that tax on this 2006 sti would only be £185 and would not fall into the new tax brackets. Does anyone know if this is correct?? Any help appreciated! Guigsy
id wait for a 100% answer but 2006 is to new to fall under the old tax brackets. Some supras come under the new bracket i think, and they stopped production in 2002. But part of what he is saying is right. Older cars. if they are imported or not are like that. for example my UK supe (a 94) is about 200 quid rather than
