Wez
Hey All, Has anyone used Mobil 1 Motorsport 15W/50 Fully Syn oil in there motors. I have a trackday tomorrow and could do with a little oil top up at short notice, the local petrol stations had these fully syn oils :- * Magnatex * Shell 5/40 * Mobil 1 0/40 I decided none of them so will pop into halfrauds in the morning, they list Mobil 1 Motorsport 15W/50 Fully Syn which seems promissing. Wez
Some info on Mobil 1 Motorsport. Mobil 1 Motorsport 15W/50 1L is formulated with SuperSyn, an extra-high viscosity synthetic fluid, plus extra anti-wear additive to provide extra protection for severe service applications such as towing, hauling and racing. Mobil 1 15W-50 is recommended for high performance vehicles including turbocharged and supercharged engines where a thicker oil film is desired. Mobil 1 15W-50 is also recommended for older valve train designs that may benefit from a higher level of anti-wear normally not required for newer generation vehicles. Mobil 1 15W-50 will also provide better anti-wear protection for higher valve spring tensions in certain racing engines.
Chris Wilson
The Mobil 15-50 is fine Wes, but if you can't get it any of the others will be fine, too.

I have always stayed away from the Magnatex stuff.
Chris Wilson
Not sure if Magnatex is a semi synthetic, but for topping up it'll still be fine, it'll only use about 1.5 litres. It's not an oil I would use through choice, but it'll still be OK
