Scoboblio
Does anyone know of an easy way to back up all your phone numbers? (stored on a SIM card). It's just occured to me that if my phone gets lost / stolen / broken, I'd lose my only way of contacting loads of people I'd like to stay in touch with. Maybe some sort of PC SIM card reader? I started typing them into a text doc before I saw how many there were
RobSheffield
i believe boysstuff (boysstuff.co.uk) offer a 'MoGo backup' for £9.
Branners
http://www.scan.co.uk normally have a small keyring sized unit you put your sim card in and its backs up all your numbers. We bought a slightly different unit at work which takes any sim card and stored the information on a PC through the USB port. Cost about £19 if I remember correctly. Digsy
I had a gizmo that read the SIM card through the serial port and could output the contents into a CSV file. When I wanted to plugg it all into my i-Mate JAM, I ported the CSV file into Excel (of course ) sorted it all out, and then imported it into Outlook. I then used Activesync to get the contacts list into my phone. Probably saved me a whole week of evenings tapping it all into the JAM from scratch, plus I always have a backup on my PC now. JamesG
If you're with Orange.... http://shop.orange.co.uk/shop/upgrade/backup costs 3 quid. Dunno if they actually check if you are an orange customer
