michael
I was reading the MOT tester manual earlier today (as you do) and read something in the windscreen section that interested me - it was saying that you need to inspect for defects but that... Grooves in windscreens which are designed specifically to clean the wiper blades are not subject to reason for rejection unless they seriously impair the driver's view of the road Do / did any cars come with these grooves as standard? Can't say I've ever noticed them on anything.

Nic
Small mention of it here. http://www.trueblueford.com/EL_Sequential.html One of the surprising and rarely talked about features of Sequential though is a specially grooved windscreen, having diamond cut grooves just above each parked wiper to clean the wiper blades before they sweep the glass - one that would have been interesting to see the effects of had it made production - a frustration many of us have had over the years.
