Raoul H
Hi All, I now own a set of 17" stock wheels and would like to have them refurbished. Does anyone know of reputable/reasonably priced reburb places in/around London? (well I am near Uxbridge, Middlesex). TIA,
Mark Ayling
Raoul, 'bout time you had those wheels sorted! I had all four of mine done by Spit and Polish recently, organised through JIC - it came to £160 and they did a very good job IMO. Plus I'm sure JIC could lend you a set whilst yours are away (did for me). I have some pics if you want to see the quality of their work.... Cheers, Mark. Cheers, Mark. ...and what was wrong with my 2 1/2 year old curb-scarred charcoal-grey 16"'s may I ask?? Don't think those lovely piccies of Billing escaped my notice! The scratches didn't show up much. That price seems quite reasonable as I also need to furnish the wheels with some tyres. Do you have a number for them? Do you have a number for them? Rgds, I have had two sets of stock wheels refurbed at Spit and Polish, just one thing to look out for. They are not very good at painting the centre caps, if you want them to do a decent job strip the caps down to the plastic with a sander and give them a few coats of primer before sending them off. I can lend you a set of wheels if you need them.

Apart from being 2 1/2 year old, curb-scarred, charcoal-grey and 16"s, nothing... Spit and Polish have a website http://www.spitandpolish.co.uk but it may be worth speaking to JIC as they put it through their business and I paid them cash (thus bypassing VAT) - I didn't tell you that though I thought I had a before pic but can't seem to find it right now, but here's a spanking new refurbed wheel the day I picked the car up: http://www.mpaconsultancy.co.uk/supra/wheelrefurb.gif I have a higher res pic which I can send you if you like.. No, I'd rather take me chances... Thanks for the offer of wheels but I am still on my trusty old 16's. Me and my mate went to pick up the new set yesterday...in the Supra:stupid: Thankfully a potential embarrassment was avoided. After alot of huffing and puffing, we got them all in and without the passenger seating being too compromised. They are still in the car as I couldn't be ar$ed to unload them last night. What was the cost going direct vs via JIC (£160)? Rgds,

HTH, Mark. LOL! My poor old wheels:p I've also been ribbed about them by the Rx-7 boys which is why I was compelled to blow them away at the 'Pod! I mean how dare *they* criticise my Supra:mad: I will ping Steve and see what he says. Mind you, I didn't get my wheels through them so it may play out slightly differently. Thanks for your help p.s. I work in High Wycombe so will enquire locally as well...

ChrisR
I used a company called Pristine Alloy Wheel Refurbishers Ltd, i have looked for their website as they used to have one, however i cannot find anything. This is the contact details -: Newport Rd, Woburn Sands, Milton Keynes, Bucks, MK17 8UD Tel: 01908 282628 Fax: 01908 282628 I used them to get a set of four 15" Celica GT wheels refurbished and they did an excellent job. It cost £140 all inclusive of VAT and collection and delivery to my local Halfords. As far as i know they offer this service through most Halfords stores. Need4Speed
No harm in asking this one again... Does anybody out there know of a company that can refurbish split-rims? Spit & Polish do not. I'm quite happy to dismantle the rims.
Syed Shah
I would imagine that Pristine would, not entirely certain though.

The wheels looked BETTER than new. You can choose the exact finish you want. They also machine out an kerbing etc. not cheap but a blinding job, and IMHO, better than Spit N' Polish (although they're not bad).
Need4Speed
Looks like Pristine may be the people for split rims. I've just found a site about a Lotus Esprit restoration - split rims restored by Pristine.

Cheers Paul:cool: Not I. I called Bracknell Tyre & Battery today to get some prices on tyres. Seems they send wheels off to be refurbished. The chappie I spoke to couldn't/wouldn't give me details of the company - not that it would make a difference I guess. The price per wheel is £38+VAT. with nominally a 4-day turnaround. Wheels collected on Tuesdays. I don't have a clue about how good they are but I am going to give them a try... Rgds,
