Scoboblio
I thought he got 3rd Bloody radio 1 The stewards are not at liberty (just like magistrates in court) to make up penalties that fit the crime Ah I see.
ivan
Seems like Charlie Whiting has changed his tune in the light of day (or in the light of losing his job?): Whiting said he gave wrong advice to McLaren because he had only seen the incident once live when they asked his opinion. "It became clear to me after seeing the incident in a more detailed way that the whole advantage had not been given back," said the race director. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/feedarticle/7817760 And WTF are Ferrari doing cross examining Hamilton? I thought this was an FIA appeal hearing? Oh wait, I get it...
Alex
And WTF are Ferrari doing cross examining Hamilton? I thought this was an FIA appeal hearing? Oh wait, I get it... This is indeed something I don't understand. It's no business of theirs as far as I can see, this is McLaren/Lewis vs the FIA stewards not Ferrari last time I checked. Exactly right, I can't understand why Ferrari are allowed to be involved in a 'questioning' way too... I'm also surprised that Charlie Whiting has been allowed to change his mind at the inquest, does that mean that he can change any of his decisions after a race?... Like, 'Oh no, I should have had him black flagged, yes, him in the Silver Car, No 22'...

But he's the only one that the teams can talk to during the race...this is where the farce that is stewardship begins... He doesn't hand out penalties, he just looks after the race - safety cars etc...

I'll have to check, but I believe the stewards basically consist of 'lawyer types', and no-one who have anything to do with racing... ivan
Now the FIA are caught out lying in an email in an effort to persuade the Judges that McLarens appeal shouldn't be allowed: http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3213_4183805,00.html What next? jim_supra
And the result is..... Appeal rejected. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7627941.stm Wasn't expecting anything else really. Shame though. Hopefully he will be able to win in Singapore (and the remaining 3 races for that matter)

Bobbeh
If Lewis has the talent, this wont mean a thing I'm sure he can still win and it'll be even more an impressive result given this appalling decision.
hoff
Unbelievable. The sport is corrupt:( And the enjoyment of it is starting to fade again for me with all this political stuff. Just let the guys race for Gods sake. I can see further panelties for LH in a bid to stop him winning the title:(

Just let the guys race for Gods sake. I can see further panelties for LH in a bid to stop him winning the title:( Exactly! Funnily enough, the steward who investigated Lewis, builds Ferrari's or something along those lines... If Ferrari do something like they did a couple of races ago and not get "penalised" until after the race, they get away scott free... If Mclaren or Lewis do something slightly wrong, thats it! W@**ers!
Ian R
I think they must be employing premiership referee's at the FIA these days

Lbm
Made my day that has. I can't stand the arrogant b'stard. What, a British sportsman who is a winner? Perhaps we should give Eddie the Eagle a chance to have a go instead- then we can be really really proud of his lack of skill and determination. Then we can turn him into a *star* once again

johnny g
What a surprise. How did you feel about Schumacher? I never liked him, too much - but you couldn't help but respect a 7 time world champion. I've warmed more to Schumacher since he quit actually and now I do like him!
