odo mp/h to km/h conversion

Hi,

 

i'm planning to buy a other supra from someone here on the forum. But the and also the odo meter are in miles. Does anybody know how it normaly done? The speedo i know, with that litle box. But the odo i don't and when it back in miles does still say the same or does it go up to the km? Csn anybody tell me this.

Usually, the same box alters the speedo and the odo. I've never heard of it being done any other way.

Thnx! thats good to hear. so just remove the box en it's km/h again. I thought that it maybe was doen with a computer to the ecu or something.

I can't say with 100% certainty, but it's very unlikely IMHO (in my humble opinion).

 

Just make sure you re-wire everything as it was. Don't forget that if the unit was a conversion AND delimiter you'll be back to 180kph max speed.

 

Your alternative is to wire the ODO back to the original kph signal, leave the speedo in MPH, and get a 320kph speedo face. Bets of both worlds that way; odo & speedo read in kph but you can still go faster than 180kph (without the speedo doing 306 degrees!) and you won't re-limit the car.
