bolarbag
IIRC it is needed as it stabalizes something, perhaps runner for the window, it is definately attached to the door, I can confirm tonight

AndyT
Doesn't look heavy enough for seat. 90% sure that's from the window. Question is, how did it get out?

bolarbag
Its not broken by the looks of things it just a bolt sheared
Big Ian
probably just a matter of finding the broken threaded end of the sheard bolt and with a bit of luck i can remove the bolt and simply refit it .... sounds to easy? Pig
it looks like the bit you adjust the angle of the window with. To make sure it fits flush.
Guigsy
yep looks like a runner for the window. If you take the speeker cover off, and the speekers off the door then put the card back on you an see it moving with the window when it goes up and down

Big Ian
thanks alaing the rain went off .. so off came the door card and i noticed straight away where the part was seated i drilled a small hole through the snapped bolt then drew it out, ran a "tap" through just to make sure the threads for the new bolt were clean and true then i refitted the part, after looking at your pic's i can't help but think my one doesn't look as flush a fit to the door panel? PS, yes my car is silver and has had a red door fitted at some point in it's life
