bodilx6
What is and how does i Pillow Ball Upper Mounts affect handling? Im I right in assuming that the difference between the Super Street and the Control Master Flex suspention is that on the SS the height adjustability is handled by putting/releasing tesion on the spring, and on the CC Flex it is done independent of both dampersettings and spring settings? Tricky-Ricky
True pillow ball mounts are actually spherical bearings, and can be fixed or adjustable for camber, the super street can be got with top mounts but they are fixed rubber mounts similar to the std ones. Yes the SS are adjustable for height by spring preload, whereas the flex types are hight adjustable by platform, so preload is not affected, damping is independently adjustable for both, but links compression and rebound. bodilx6
Thanks a lot Would you rate the Mono Flex too firm for normal road use? Is the Flex softest setting almost harder that the SS's hardest? Been told that the Mono Flex is almost unsuable for road use...
Nic
The Tein Mono Flex have quite a firm spring rate for general road use, they are more aimed for track use. At that sort of budget I would go for the new HKS Hypermax III's, as they have a slightly softer spring rating. http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/9939/cimg00012tz6.jpg Or for a bit more money the ultimate setup for me would be Ohlins PCV coilovers. http://www.carrozzeriajapan.co.jp/ohlins/4w/img/hal/bnr32hal_l.jpg

Well for example, a friend has a set of the older Flex on his Skyline R32 and the ride is nasty! sticks like the proverbial but its not a nice ride, i do find the SS a bit harsh at times, but my local roads are crap!
