DamanC
After deciding that myself and the missus needed a break we decided to start pricing places up to the canaries for a week. By the time we found a nice SC option and added our spending money we were looking at not far off £600 each. For the hell of it, purely by fluke we took a look at holidays to the caribbean, to our surprise there are some nice prices, for under £700 for two weeks all inclusive. That has made our mind up. However, it was many a year ago I last went, and that was to Jamaica, so haven't a clue where to start. So far we have found nice deals to; Cuba Dom rep Margarita Can anyone comment on the above? Whats the weather like around the middle/end of November? Cheers

AndyT
Cuba. Brilliant people, no shops. Plan a couple hundred each to do trips. I'm in Dom Rep in March, so I'll let you know. Got a friend goes there time after time though. I think hurricane season may be dying out then, shame, I like storms. Temps, now, at both places are low 30's sun and partial cloud. Margarite (sp) I looked at but didn't know if there was enough to do. Great trip to Angel Falls from there though. Flight time is 10 hours +

Charlotte
The only thing I know about Cuba is that the hurricane season runs between June and November.

AndyT
Varadero on the Atlantic coast. I stayed at the Iberostar. The Sandals hotel was shut down Blau Hotel looked good. Couple more I can't remember, but visited on trips looked great. Should be all budgets. 2 hours to Habana. 4 hours to Pinar Del Rio, cigar central. Over nighter for the towns on the Caribbean coast. That looked nice. Edit - Guadalavaca down the other end of the island is not local to anything. It also looks like Somerset.

Luxluc
I've been 3 time in Dom Rep and once in Cuba ... nothing beats the Dom Rep. Only thing to mention : you only go there to relax ... not that much to visit.
Soaruss
Been to Dom Rep several times and loved every one. Some really good trips to go on aswell. Been to Cuba too, this is also a nice place to go. If you go to Cayo Coco or Cayo Guillermo you have to go on the self drive speedboats tour, Its awesome. Mexico, been here a couple of times, going 3 weeks today too. With Mexico you have more to do outside the complex. All are nice places to go. We always go end September or beginning of October. Hurricanes are about finished by then. Good temps low 30's Enjoy

GoliathJay
I was in the DOm Rep last December for the week with the lady. Was nice enough, not very exciting and a bit polluted. Doubt I'd go back. However, it is cheaper and I hear the south side (Carribean sea) is a much nicer option, with crystal sea and white beaches, as opposed to the north side (Atlantic ocean). bigcol
Paradisus Rio De Oro, 5*+ in Guardalavacia (Holguin) its rated the 10th best all inclusive in the world (tripadviser) and its its in top 2 in Cuba, cost me and the mrs £750 each and it was fooking fantastic, its adults only so no screaming kids running round early doors when you have a hangover (or pi**ing in the pool) total luxury, highly recommended going back next year
