Car for the missus

For some time now, the other half has been thinking about a convertible...

Going to book a test drive in a S2000 for the weekend. Other one she likes is the lotus elise. She does not like the MR2, Z3, Z4, etc.

By pure chance, we found a porsche speedster (chesil) on pistonheads, that was very local to us. So we went and had a look.... Loved it!! Stunning car!!! Owner took us for a drive, would have loved to have driven it, but no insurance for us, quiet happily left it for him to drive. Felt so

Has anyone owned one? What are they like to live with? Obviously not an everyday car...

Thoughts.....

Arent they built on a skoda? very cool car though! james dean had one.

not the originals.... this is a replica, beetle one...

Originals go for £100K +

Doubtful. Collectors items. Gorgeous though. :)

S2000 is a good car. Elise 111R is a rocket sled. Great track car. :eyebrows:

Z350 cabrio????

Audi TT cabrio????

350 is new now, but in a few years will be old and ugly, the speedster to me, is timeless.

Not a fan of the TT...

The chesil is a kit car replica. Built on a beetle or a skoda.

that it is... this one is a beetle based one.

I absolutely love the Chesil Speedster's, they are a first class replica, was tempted by one of these many years ago. What engine has it got in there?

The 356 will always be a classic as well as being exclusive due to the numbers made, even in replica form.

The speedster would be the most fun i think? I had a triumph spitfire for a year and drove it all year even in the winter it would start first time!!! These old car work really well if you use them every day. Just got to make sure the build quailty is upto scratch and your happy with is (or she is happy with it).

Cheers :D

I am pretty sure that after driving the S2000 this weekend, and then driving in italy next week, that her choice will be the speedster.

Was hoping someone had had one, or similar.... Thanks!

You slightly overpriced them ;) You can get one in good condition for about 20k+ It's still expensive, but I absolutely love them and if I had a money.... My ultimate choice tho would be 356 Outlaw in pearl black

Good replicas go from 15 - 30K

Originals....

Not at all, an original Porsche 356 will set you back £120k minimum. A nice Chesil replica will set you back £20k
