mathew Posted September 17, 2008 Share Posted September 17, 2008 "our" rules? yes, our rules. a prime example is that school girl from the welsh valleys that took the school to court to over turn the uniform rule as she wanted to wear a bracelet or something. every single school ive been to has had a fixed uniform code and we wore what that code said we would wear. why did this girl think she had a right to contest it.......oh hang on it was her religion that made her think she could. and to take the p1ss just a bit more when the ruling was made that she could wear it what does she do? moves to a different school. religion sucks and is one of the only things i can say i really detest. Religion itself, whichever you choose to follow, should make you a better person. If it doesnt then it is the person to blame, not the religion. Religion is not logical otherwise all religions would fail on the test of proof. Religion is about trust and predominantly what one wants to believe. The religious types call it faith those who have no faith can't understand it. Similarly the religious types can't understand why someone else would not have the same faith. The biggest laugh for me is when people call it Religion. That is total crap. I would like to propose the arguement that Religion is nothing more than big business and it is run by men for the purposes of men using all the tools of big business such as manipulation, empty promises, skewed values and violence. Because of thousands of years of precedent and indoctrination, and because ultimately we all fear death and want to believe there is some higher purpose to our lives. Hopefully at some point in the future science will fully answer questions like how life began on earth and how the universe began, but even if it does, there will always be a great number of people ready to believe that a flood 6000 years ago "aged" the earth, that some sky pixie buried dinosaur bones to test our faith, that a hurricane destroyed New Orleans because a lesbian lives there or even that the slaughter of 6 millions jews was to the greater glory of god. The rulings of arbitration tribunals are binding in law, provided that both parties in the dispute agree to give it the power to rule on their case. Multics Posted September 17, 2008 Share Posted September 17, 2008 This country is too PC and it's paying the price of its repetitive mistakes throughout history, I consider this as another big mistake. I'm not British nor muslim so I does not really affect my feelings but I think every country should keep its values and traditions alive and those who come in the country should respect thesaid values, although it's proving to be more difficult for some. At the end of the day it's not the people of different culture that cause the problem, it's the government's ability (or disability) managing the integration process. We only found one Kebab shop, but it was nice, although expensive. £30 for three or four kebabs. What's awesome is that they are strictly secular. Political parties suspected of being influenced by religion are disbanded. Ataturk made people dress normally too, and they didn't mind.
