The Raven
Going to test drive one next week to replace the two cars we have now. Anyone been in one, owned one? Advise and or review?
AntD
I would recommend checking the Toyota ownersclub website out.I know there are a couple of Corolla Kompressor owners on there.

TRD DAN
i have driven them and to be honest i prefer the t-sport the kompressor is very smooth power wise but you dont feel the kick you get with vvtli as the chager kinda takes it away

simbasupra
From what i can recall the supercharger adds very little bhp to the standard tsport, however like said does make the delivery smoother. There is however some procedure you can do before you start the car to unleash more bhp. I think its something like applying the footbrake 25 times. I imagine you can find this procedure online somewhere. However this has to be done every time and cannot be made permanent. And you may look like a bit of an idiot doing it . chris2o2
Does it use the same engine as the celica 190 but supercharged ? That engine is crying out for some low down grunt .

simbasupra
What kind of power do they put out standard? Tsport 189bhp Compressor 215bhp Does it use the same engine as the celica 190 but supercharged ? That engine is crying out for some low down grunt . Both the Corolla Tsport and Celica Tsport have the same 1.8 litre 189bhp (190) engine. And yes they have just fitted a supercharger to it.

simbasupra
Are you viewing one that will have warranty? Apart from the obvious things to check, corrollas are pretty good. The only specific things i can think of are, after a while the dash part above the stereo deforms and goes a funny shape lol. Also have a good look down the side of the engine from all possible angles. The timing chain covers are prone to leaking. If this is the case they will just require removal and resealing. May cost a bit if its not under warranty though. Will try and think of some more things today and post tonight.
Scott
Turn ignition on - do not start car - put foot on accelerator for 40 seconds - take foot off accelerator once light flashes - start car. As long as you have 98 ron minimum you should see around 240bhp. As far as i know you have to do it every time and it was only designed that way to give the charger a blow out every now and again. Toyota were going to bring it out as 240 but it used too much fuel so they dropped it (also the reason for no trip computer). Think they have the same engine and charger as the elise so no reason why they wouldn't see 250 with a little tweeking.
