Dazzi
With NA engines you have to take the whole inlet manifold off to take the spark plugs out. Obviously it will be a right pain having to connect everything back up just to get the reading from the 2 underneath it. Would it be ok to do the compression test without refitting the manifold? This is basically like holding it at WOT but im concerned any vacuum lines running into the manifold may have an effect on the final reading. BTW what is the average compression on an NA as they have more than TT's? Cheers
JustGav
It shouldn't affect the compression test not having the intake manifold in place as you are testing the valves/rings rather than anything.
Dazzi
Cheers, just checking incase those vacuum lines have any say in compression
Tricky-Ricky
A compression test should be conducted with the throttle held wide open anyway so same difference, vacuum lines have no bearing.
