That must feel really wierd. Did you guy have an inkling that this was coming?

I was speaking to a friend of mine who is in the business and he told me 2 months ago that LB were on the verge of bankruptcy; I would be surprised if it came as a ........surprise to anyone / certainly those in the industry.

I am hanging on in for the moment, thing is not sure this time at work will be paid now, could be no money left for wages on Friday

As far as I am aware from my time in corporate insolvency at PWC, if you are kept on by the administration the wages from the date fo the administration are the responsibility of PWC. I could be wrong so don't quote me on that.

As for an administration, it is NOT bankruptcy. Companies cannot go bankrupt. By taking the bank into administration the role of the administrator is to try sell the company as a going concern, I.e. sell it to another company. If that doesn't happen it will go into liquidation and then everyone lose their jobs.

:)

I am a man of zero power I'm afraid. I'm a contractor as well.

RBS have just imposed a 10% rate cut on all contract staff which isn't great. But there's a hell of a lot of work on at the moment due to the integration with ABN Amro.

I can recommend my Agency though. They've been pretty good and take you out for lunch alot. (752 Solutions)

Right, looks like I am back in a job... :D

Now that Nomura has bought the Asia branch and some of the European business, I've been asked back.

Still need to be contacted by PWC to take over the contract, but all is signed off, so all looks good.

Looks like I'm going to have to cancel the interview for shunting cars around a plant in Purfleet for £6 an hour. That is not a joke either...

Many many thanks for everyone one here that either put my CV forward or gave me contact numbers. Shows that there is a real club spirit here and I really apprieciate everything that was done for me..

Now I just need to survive until November on 6 days pay, but hey that's what the savings are for...

Again, thanks all...

PS I may have gone over board with the Smilies.. :sorry:
