siriusprojects
For those of you in and around the South West of the country and anyone else who may be interested, there is a new company in Yeovil on the Lynx Trading Estate called Performance 3000 Ltd. I have just popped down to see them today. They can do any and all performance mods, a wide range of alloy wheel and wheel/tyre packages, bodykits and even a set of lambo doors if you want them, plus much more. Thought this may be of interest to some of you. Here is a link to there website. Performance 3000 Ltd

Toms Supra
lol!! I dont think I would take my car there! It a little dingy workshop. Btw thats a 106 on homepage not a saxo!
siriusprojects
Regardless of what picture are in the bloody gallery, I just thought it would be useful for those of us down her in the south west to know. I personally am very glad, I don't really want to have to travel halfway across the country everytime I want any kind of performance work done on my car. This would have been the case for me had I not found out about this company. I've already booked my car in there to have a Top Speed Delimiter/Speedo Converter fitted. Their workshop is actually quite big, room for 3/4 cars at any one time. They were working on a stretch limo while I was there!
Guest slow dog
this board is all about what people like and dont like. and every one has there say if they wish there probably a very good company with good skills and produce some very good work. but all we have seen is an mr2 with an exhaust thats ott and alot of chav cars with ott kits on so from my point of veiw would be to say there very good at saxo and mr2 kits and exhaust but when it comes to the high end cars. ie supras i would not let them near them. sorry i cant imagine a supra with a heart shaped exhaust or 2 cookie cutters sticking out the back end of a supra
Green Peace
I personally am very glad, I don't really want to have to travel halfway across the country everytime I want any kind of performance work done on my car. Seriously mate we are here to help you thats what this BBS is for to save each other from letting people like them work on a Supra. Even Toyota trained technicians have problems working on Supras..I agree with everyone else if you had a Puggy 106 then fine...but you are driving a High performance Twin turbo...I mean if you owned a Ferrari would you take it there? (I just wanna make sure its not run by my oldest brov or anyone I know before i totally slag it off lol as he lives down there somewhere and I havent spoke to him for years...and this is the kind of business he would run he he) Seriously mate....it happens to all of us...ya live and learn when its too late...just a lot of us have fallen on our faces..I'm one of em and very VERY picky about who i get to work on my car...I chose Paul Slow Dogg...others are prepaired to travel to Chris Wilson to get things right due to previous bad experiences with garages...even some of the so called TOP tuning shops have a terrible reputation too....you wont go wrong with Paul or Chris Wilson both worth a journey for involved stuff...and there are others I'm sure who are good.. siriusprojects
I understand and have taken in everything all of you have said and to an extent I agree, but at the end of the day, they are local to me and I am willing to give them a try. I would be crazy not to, in my view. Who knows, they might do a really good job, I won't know unless I give them a try. Surely this must have been the same for everyone. Take Chris Wilson or Paul Slow Dogg for example. I don't know them personally, but wouldn't someone have taken a chance on them in the beginning in order for them to build up the reputation they have. That's all I want to do with this company. I want to give them at least a chance to prove that they are as good as they say they are. If there no good, then fine, I'll go elsewhere. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt until they give me reason to think otherwise.
JustGav
I think the issue is not the fact that we agree or disagree with the type of work they do... Hell...I couldn't give a rats ass if they want to stick a 100" exhaust on a 106... However, I would be very careful letting someone who has little or no experience with a supra near my car... Yes true they have to start somewhere, that is true... but I don't want to be the test subject...unless I am doing the work myself... I do wish you luck.. and please give us feedback on them, good or bad.
Toms Supra
Yeah I work in Yeovil they used to be based in wincanton I think? They been there for years! Its very "chav" down there only for novas and saxo`s lol. Try Topgear in Bridport a little further but they are the boys!!....... Anyway mate what supra do you have? colour wise etc, I seen quite a few in Yeovil.
Soo
Hi Sirius, Don't think that some of the above are being hard on you just for the sake of it. I'm sure it's just because they don't want you to do anything that you may not be happy with, as many have done in the past. It may be that they are good and your'e right, you won't know exactly how good they are until you (or someone that you know) gives them a go. It may be that they are advertising the cars they do as there's a lot more of them about than high performance cars (makes business sense) ! But - if you change your mind, you could try Protec at Nailsea who did ours (delimit) etc and work for Bristol Jap Imports. Alternativley, I can vouch for Chris Wilson, defo worth the drive up there, knows what he's doing and realy nice guy. We are going to use him 100% from now on. From experience, I would not trust my car with anyone I wasn't absolutely sure of and I would not give anyone a "chance" or "benefit of the doubt" with my car. Going to them just because they are local could be a very costly mistake, I'm sure there are a lot of us on here who have made this mistake and regretted it. siriusprojects
Hi There, Thought I'd post some feedback. They fitted my Thor Delimiter/Speedo Convertor on Tuesday. No problems whatsoever! It took the guy about and hour to complete the job and he also fixed an issue regarding the oil warning light at no extra charge. I will also be purchasing a set of 18" alloys with tyres from them. The guy I spoke to is pricing this up for me and has said that he will do me a good deal for the wheel/tyre package. In general, I found them extremely helpful and friendly. I certainly haven't been put off using them again, in fact, I can safely say that they will probably get my business from now on!

The work you had done though would be easy for any garage/junior mechanic, or anyone with a basic knowledge of electronics to carry out eg. it's the type of work that many members tackle themselves. TRL products also comes with installation instructions (in English!) which makes the job even easier. I trusted a so-called tuner with my car when I first got it. It ended up costing me a lot of money when they screwed up because they didn't know what they were doing and I had to get the resulting fcuked engine replaced. My advice, if you want to take it, would be by all means use this place for general work and for sourcing parts, BUT anything that requires specific knowledge of a 2JZ engine/Supra go elsewhere and find an expert. The Hornet
Thats what I would suggest too, for simple plug and play parts no problem, but or any thing technical on the Supra, I would ask for advice on here first to make sure I know whats going on then book it in with people who actually know. siriusprojects
Hi Guys And Gals, Just thought I would give you an update on what's is being done on my car. I have decided to go for the 18" alloys in the picture attached. These have been ordered as well as a set of tyres to fit. I have also placed an order for a lambo conversion kit, which should be here in a couple of weeks time. I will post some pictures of my car once the wheels and conversion kit have been fitted.
