Anyone who buys a car like this for financial reasons is a goon.

Disagree. A chap on PH mentioned his GT2 cost less to run over three years than his wifes 987 Boxster S over the same period, this included buying and selling. To disregard depreciation is foolish at best imo, especially when it was thought that the car had already done the biggest chunk of it in the first place

I'm talking about Supra's, and grey import ones especially. I'd only worry about deprecation on a car I didn't care about, ie something I used for work for example. If it was something I had to get for some other reason than my own and was gonna cost me cash then I'd look at finding something that hopefully would hold its value better than others.

Cars depreciate, that's life.

If you want a nice car you have to accept that you are going to lose a fair amount of money on it. The nicer and newer and more expensive your car is, the more you will lose money as it gets older and less desirable.

If the depreciation of your car's value is a major problem then you're probably driving something you can't really afford.

It pains me to say it, but IMO, Jazz1 has the right attitude; "Sod it, I'm having the car I want and I don't care if I lose money - it's worth it to me."

Has anyone said the standard supra looks crap?

Or is it just OTT kitted ones!

In fairness stock (especially silver) pre facelift supes do look kinda crap... IMHO ;)

Not sure if I like that Porsche or not, like someone said, you want the one out of Bad Boys :D

How does it drive? I worry that it would drive too much like a modern car? Not been in one though so I really don't know... It is pretty though, bet you're chuffed.

lol, tbh I own a pre-facelift too and am unsure if I could honestly tell the difference at a distance other than front indicators..... but thats just me ;) I doubt the general public could tell either if they both had private plates. it was just the 'pre facelift supes do look kinda crap' tickled me as they aren't a million miles apart. but I get what you mean

And 'if I want you're opinion, I'll give it to you'

lol, ^^^ thats a joke btw, just in case I get flamed again for using humour, (In my opinion) on a very serious forum...

Take care

I agree they dont look great in Silver, facelift rear lights help in that case.

I'm of the school of thought that a decent set of wheels and maybe a front lip is all thats required to make them look decent. Nothing more.

Not a fan of the 996, or cab's in general. Tell your old man he should have bought a 993 instead :)

lol my old man is not into cars why do you think he gave me the supra, he is not buying anything yet as he wants to buy another business and has his eyes on an aston martin in the future:)

In fariness I only said 'kinda crap' because that was what I had quoted from someone else ;)

Personally the difference is like night and day to me there is no "Is that a facelift?" type question.

I should probably clarify that it's a jspec thing too.

I'll just reiterate for the sake of clarity, I  supes. haha.
