I think it is a poser car and I love it :)

Is a status thing, not only can afford to buy it but the whole life style. you buy a porcshe and can afford their factory FSH. Golf in the afternoon, dinner at Claridges, gym with personal trainner etc etc.

It is not about buying a car and say to others you can afford one but buying one and enjoy the ownership plus the life style to match it which count.

I like 911 because of its practical side, not like a family car but you can really drive it and park it anywhere with out thinking too much. I am look at porche and Farrari 360, just looking tho. We sold our house a couple of months back and I can buy one but I won't be able to afford the lifestyle, I don't think I will drive and park on at China town for dinner :)

lol ratmotorsport i like that, i bought this because iv always loved porsches, heres two i was looking at both in my price range, the gt2 replica was nice but high mileage which put me off, and this black one was so nice low mileage but left hand drive:(. Next year i will look for a better one if i can afford it

I must admit, I used to be a bit like supra_aero about 911's. I was simply predisposed not to like them - they are quite common (especially around these parts - I live 1/2 mile from a big Porsche dealership) and they do have a legacy, "poser" image.

That was until I drove one. A friends 993. My BPU Supra would have had it in a straight line, but the 993 was a superior drive in every other way - going from the comparatively "loose" steering of the Supra, the pointy steering and tight handling on the 993 felt like a different world. I've never driven any other car which felt like it would just do exactly what you wanted it to do.

I would have one in a flash if (a) I could afford one and (b) I didn't need the family space.

im sure you could buy one easily just about working hard, yea i was going to buy an M3 bmw but i thought they are too common and they have come down in price, plus they dont hold there value

errr, I didn't suggest that you said that. You did say that one of the reasons you didn't buy an M3 is because "they dont hold there value". I merely pointed out that 996s aren't holding their value either.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you didn't buy an M3.
