Suprash
Guys, my car is at GVN, which they have now finished, they have also sprayed some engine bay plastic bits like fan shroud, small fuse box by air filter on the left hand side, cam cover etc all Samco blue to match the hose kit. Also there was a problem with the alarm from the original respray, in that everytime it was armed the alarm would keep going off, and then I noticed one of the motion sensors was missing, it was caught behind the A pillar casing, which again went back to rectified and they have no removed that casing and pulled out the sensor. So everything it seems was finally done, except now when they start the car, the fuel pump fuse keeps blowing. I have a Walbro pump, but they are saying they cant hear it being primed when just the ignition is on, which Im sure you could normally here, thinking back. Anyway does anyone have any idea's why the fuel pump fuse would keep blowing ?
absz
unbolt the cover plate in the boot to gain access to your pump and pull the plug off, if the fuse still blows then there is a short in the wiring somewere if fuse is then ok then suspect fuel pump. Would the pump not have to be connected to complete the circuit for it to blow ?
absz
not if you have a short in the loom:)
Chris Wilson
Have they been screwing bits of body kit on? Maybe they have put a screw through the loom somewhere? I bought a Soarer 7 years ago for under a grand, as it had no operative heating system, or fans. Some dozy *ugger had fitted some hi fi or phone stuff and drilled into the heater loom by the gear selector. A day to find, zero cost to repair. Suprash
Ok, I will run it past them if they have screwed anything new in anywhere.....thanks
Homer
Chris has a good point with the wiring. Did they do any work on the nearside rear arch? They could have got through to the fuel pump ECU and wiring which sits just behind the boot light panel. Certainly worth checking out... Pig
When my fuel pump fuse kept blowing it was completly random and was a short circuit.
