Jake
Checked the error codes to see if there's a speed sensor problem or anything else? edit: Why isn't "error codes" hyperlinked to the FAQ section?

AndyT
http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=72588&highlight=error+code&page=3 Have a gander through this one. It mentions the power steering symptom and links to a thread with instructions on how to bypass the odo buffering. Could also be a dry joint on the circuit board. Hope not. Good stuff. Misfire may be the coil pack connections. Old wiring to the packs. I've seen a fair few descriptions of that.
