quigonjay
hi, having a little trouble getting a relacement strut for a j-spec tt are they not available from toyota? it has tokico struts, are these the oem ones for a j-spec? tried ordering one from toyota with the model number on the car and they assure me the the one they sent is the correct one it obviously isnt as it is a bilstein and the spring platform sits approc 5mm higher i'm assuming the bilsteins where on uk cars? if not available from toyota where can i get a replacement tokico strut? thanks Jay
georigg
Do search on KYB suspension units. I posted a contact telephone number about 6-7 months ago for a UK supplier for KYB which was the OEM supplier to Toyota in Japan. The other possibility of course is that someone has fitted after-market struts in which case you will likely have to fit two new ones.........which is always the best thing to do anyway when renewing suspension shocks/struts anyway. Paul372
just fit two new bilsteins best to replace them in pairs anyway
AdzC
The Bilsteins were an option on the Supra as my SZ has them. Might be as well renewing all four. Nic can get hold of them for a decent price, see here

Rgds George how strange, the tokico items definately look oem as they also have toyota branding on them? Jay
bigbloodyturbo
If you have yellow shocks does that mean they're the bilsteins? are the bilsteins stiffer?
AdzC
If you have yellow shocks does that mean they're the bilsteins? are the bilsteins stiffer? They are yellow but should laso have the Billstein logo on them. I believe they are stiffer than the OEM dampers.

Nic
this is the strut i was reffering to, part number doesnt exist according to toyota would this have been the oem struts in japan then? I can't find the part number either, the first part 48530 is the correct number for the damper, the second part I cannot find reference too. As mentioned earlier I would replace both sides at the same time.
Nic
If you have yellow shocks does that mean they're the bilsteins? are the bilsteins stiffer? Mostly likely they are, here is a pic of the OEM Bilsteins. They are slightly stiffer. http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/1017/cimg00037nc.jpg
