Housing, Shifter (33521-24040) Control Shift Lever (33570-24010)

These part numbers are Australian i think, i noted them from a thread i seen ages ago. It is basically the shifter housing and the shifter from a soarer box which bolts onto the r154 (6bolt i think)

Thankyou

Do you know the part number for the belhousing as well?

cant find the part number for it but you may have a problem getting it from toyota anyway. Reason is they are a jap part, soarers where never sold here and the only other car that had it was the mk3 2.5 turbo which had the 1jz in it. Your best bet is to go on to trademe.co.nz (its like australian ebay)and find the guy from nz who sells custom made bellhousings for these, i think he does all sorts like Rseries --> 1uz and Wseries --> 1uz, he also does the Rseries --> 2jz adaptor which allows you to use a w58 bellhousing to mate your r154 to the 2jz.

Should be no problem ordering it from Toyota. If there is, try another dealer, or find a US supplier like Driftmotion.

and the Chaser/Mark II/ Cresta.

Thanks for that. I didn't realize that someone did an adaptor for the JZ auto bellhousing to the manual 'boxes.

The seller is gsteed.

These adaptor plates adapt the 1UZFE auto bell housing marked 1U to W55/W56/W57/W58 gearboxes or R154 Supra box or Hilux/ Hiace R series boxes. We also do them for the bellhousings marked U2 drilled to correct the 6 degree offset that this bellhousing has.

We can also do them For 1 and 2JZ auto bellhousings, but they are a very thick adaptor as the J series engines bellhousing is quite short.

R154 is gearbox used in MK3 Supras, very strong :) W58 is 5speed manual gearbox for Supra MK4 NA
R154 -- Any 1JZ-GTE manual and Mk3 Supra turbo (7M-GTE).

W58 -- Any 2JZ-GE manual, Mk3 Supra N/A (7M-GE), 1G-GTE manual (e.g. Mk3 Supra GA70).

Versions of both gearboxes are used in Toyota pick-ups, but they have wide ratios and a low first gear.

Thankyou, but I dont understnad the adaptor plate.

If it allows the use of an auto bellhousing onto an R154, then where does the clutch pivot arm and slave cylinder locate as these are normally on or in the bell housing?

Or have I missed something?

You might have to use a hydraulic release bearing, I don't know.

Seems likely. It looks as if a hydraulic release bearing is used in Thor's kit for the 1UZ auto bellhousing and the R154.

Are I see now. It looks like a neat solutionand I dont have a clutch slave cylinder at the moment anyway. I will email the guy and ask how much for the hydraulic release bearing.
