problem autobow with boost at 0.8b

Hello

i've got a mk4 TT auto uk spec running with a catback apexi, a catasport tanabe downpipe, blitz air filter and dump hks.

i've got a problem with my autobox, its seems that I cannot pass 5000rpm at full boost, i'm obliged to release the pedal and go to 0.5b in order to continue to inscrease my rpm.

i 've got the problem with overdrive off or on, With the manu mode i have the problem too but it seems to be less .

There's 1pb for the moment, there's a leak of oil into the box oil cooler (something hits it and broked it)

do you think these problem can cause my autobox problem or can it be something else? (torque converter? box broken?)

Thank you very much and sorry for my english (i''m french:innocent:)

i forgot something: i have some boost problems the two last weeks, after 4000rpm, my boost goes up to 1.2 b and more (and the car cuts because no fcd on the car)

In fact, one hose from my wastegate was broken.

i know on scoobys that the ecu cuts too and that the car runs in a "poor mode" not to broke the engine or else;

i didn't see any check engine but did the supra has a mode like that for the autobox? in fact if there's no fcd and the car takes too much pressure, i ask myself if there's not a protect mode for the box?

Thank you

Wait what?! Slow down. It seems like you have a lot more than one problem. So let me get this straight... your wastegate line was broken? Do you know how bad that is ? That is how you blow up your motor/ turbos. First fix that immediately. The ecu will hit a 'boost cut' if you hit 14psi for more than 3seconds I believe. This is to prevent you from doing harm to your motor. You will need a FCD to prevent this or a BCC if you have a US spec Supra.

Sounds to me like you are hitting boost cut.

You know your stuff mate. :) Get a thread going introducing yourself. :)

On topic...Check out cwtt's advice. Do not go far with the car until a decent garage has looked it over. :)

the boost problem has been solved without problems, in fact the hose is an old one and crackered, I know that I have a fuel cut, and now it's over, i've got the genuine pressure 0.8b

but we have to do some try with the car to solved the problem and i think the car has been in security mode to prevent any other problem.

I made a reset ecu and the autobox now works well but i cannont nom disconnect the trc and don' t have the regulator of speed.

I cannot bring it to a garage in france, they don't know the car (only 49 supra solds all over france)

in fact i'm asking myself if maybe it would'nt be a fuel cut, because my autobox pass the gear without problem.

I made try yesterday and it was hot , no problem

I made try today, cold and the car stops at 5000rpm, if i want to go higher I have to release the pedal and push it less.

In fact my greddy boost gauge tells me 0.8-0.9 or 0.95b of pressure (its depends of the gear engaged) and at 5000rpm if I pushed the accel pedal , I will have full boost rapidly so maybe a fuel cut, no?

  • 1 month later...

so ,what's new?

I really need some help.

I have bigger problem:

-i don't have any problem with my boost (0.8b full boost) , all hose have been checked and replaced with new one.

- I Made a flush to the gearbox oil and replace with new one (not a full flush) , I replace too the filter that is in the box (sorry don't know the name in english)

-what i have as problem:

* no more speed regulator

* when going to 60mph, active spoiler doesnt' goes down and the light is warning (but i can still make it down when I cut the car

* today i have a new problem : When i go in every gear, the car had problems to start, one time it will go without problem, one time i'm obliged to accelerate to make the box engaged a gear. ( before the flush, the box doesn't make this)

* and always when i accelerate its like the car doesnt want to go fast, it accelerate, blocks, accelerate, and i have to release the pedal .

*If I checked my gearbox level, at cold the level is perfect, but at warm it seems to have no oil in the box. Is it possible to have that? I flush 3liters and put it back. so I don't understant why i Have that

I've checked the MIL light and no code register.

Somebody in france ,told me about a problem with the odometer, could it be possible that it causes all of those problems

Thank you and really sorry for my english

so i made the code 42 fix and i have now the active spoiler and cruise control that's working now.

I put some oil more in the box and its seems tht now the gear have'nt no problem to engage, so that's good too.

My only problem that lefts:

-I accelerate, full boost, and the engine seems to have some dificult to increase the rpm, and speed. I am obliged to release the pedal and be nearly to 0b at boost to make the car increase the rpm. Maybe a sensor? what do you think of that???
