xxcat
When I've bought my MK4 it was already "singled" with SARD turbo kit: KKK K27 turbo + 3470MOJ compressor. It's all I know about this turbo as yet Can't find any deeper details till now. It seems to me that this is not very common turbo for 2JZ. All I've found is small video on youtube with Ridox Supra having exactly the same turbo setup (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vu_pyi8j0N0) Currently it starts to produce small positive boost at ~3100...3200rpm and reaches my "boost controlled" 1.2bar at ~ 3800...4000rpm. Timing is ~10deg at 1.2bar, hi-rpms (not knock-tuned, just to be on safe side). The questions I have for now: 1) Is it OK turbo for ~600+bhp? 2) How laggy is this turbo in your opinion (compared to other, well known T60-1, GT35 etc...)? 3) What is the best T3 turbo for my goals [1]? Thanks. Edited September 9, 2008 by xxcat (see edit history)
Wez
The Garrett GT35 frame turbos can be had with T3 flanges
Nic
The Garrett GT35 frame turbos can be had with T3 flanges Yes the biggest T3 turbo I know of is the GT35, but realistically on pump fuel you're looking at around 550hp. You could fit a T3-T4 adapter and fit a bigger turbo, not sure how the adapter will effect the flow though. The K27 looks quite small. supra
heres another video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8vAxzLApPs the sard turbo kit is not cheap. i looked at this for my car and for the same money i can get a turbo kit that can support up to 800bhp. this sard kit cannot support more than 650bhp imo. but then again the sard turbo kit is not about BIG POWER FIGURES, its more about efficiancy and power delivery. xxcat
The K27 looks quite small. As far as I know the turbo has: .87 AR INDUCER 67.16mm exducer 75.85mm Trim 78.4 Would like to know something about compressor as well, but nothing as yet but then again the sard turbo kit is not about BIG POWER FIGURES, its more about efficiancy and power delivery. So in your opinion it's not very laggy turbo?
