Front Speaker Brackets Group Buy

I'm no expert so it may be nothing to worry about, but when I was looking into what speakers I was going to fit I found lots of sites stating stuff like...

"...using lower resistance loads produces a greater load on the amp. Well designed amps that cannot handle the demand will either shut themselves off or blow a fuse. A poorer designed amp can permanently damage itself. Also, even if an amp works in these configurations it will probably generate more heat so ventilation is even more important..."

Taken from here where there's a load of in depth articles about car audio. I looked at this one in reference to ohms.

Thanks Mawby, incar audio is something I've never looked into before :( Going to see how they go.

How is that Sheefa was able to do a group buy on my original design for brackets and separate rings for £17 a pair, in moisture resistant MDF, yet these, to your design, are some £30 a pair and its just a bit of cut Marine ply with holes drilled in? Yet Imi is still going to have to buy some rings to get them to actually fit.

Don't feel obliged to answer, its more a rhetorical question.

Simple answer is that Sheefa couldn't do that. I know Sheefa well and he was looking into getting the mdf brackets made - for £25 posted, but having problems with his supplier. After my original brackets - made to your design - fell apart, I made the first set of my designed brackets for my car. I showed them to Sheefa while I was doing another job on his supe, and he asked me if I could produce them for the original group buy that he was organising. He then checked with the approx 50 people who signed up if that was ok and I went ahead. Due to popular demand, i've since done 3 further group buys and i've now sold over 100 sets of these with no complaints up till now.

I've never put a gun to anyones head to buy these. TBH i'm suprised there is still a demand, but 20 people signed up in 48 hrs so please don't question my workmanship.

Imi is not obliged to buy anything. I'm in touch with him via pm which is non of your business.

This is what happens if you use your MDF brackets and powerful (150w metal cone) speakers:

As for a bit of plywood - how its made to follow when i've uploaded the pictures.

Is it alot of hassle so to run a cable to the door speakers if you want to use components because I would like to upgrade the Twetters too (I would like to have the crossover in the footwell so I can have easy access to upgrade to run off an amp at later stage)

Just that the current stock Twetters vibrate in the dash maybe dynamat is the solution and I assume if I wanted to use dynamat with the door speakers I stick it to the Speaker bracket before I screw the speaker down

If you're going to run wires through into the car, one great bit of advice is to use vaseline or grease to get the cables through the gromets \ sleeves \ etc.

If you do then it's quite easy, if you don't it's really difficult. :)

Also, on the dynamat part, you'd be better off taking off the plastic liner and putting the dynamat on the inside of the door. If you do that make sure none of it gets in the way of the window \ locking mechanisms.

HTH.
