Mine have arrived thank you. Superb quality and service.

If you can wait a week, i'll be doing a step by step guide with photos.

That would be really good. I've found my speakers don't fit through the hole on the wood so I'm not sure if I should be making the hole larger or getting smaller speakers (not 6x9 like I have at the mo).

6 x 9 wont fit in the doors, you need 6.5 inch round speakers.

Ok, trying to install these and coming across the following issues, pics attached.

I am struggling to line up the holes for the speaker bracket between the door card and the mount...

And there is way too much space between the mount and the door card.

any suggestions on how to mount the speakers.

The way I done it was just screwed the speaker do the door card and through into the mount, kinda pulls them together, once the speakers are in and the grills are on you can't see any gaps etc.

so I take it that there is enough flex with the door card to close the 1 inch gap that there is between it and the mount.

how many holes did you get to line up?

At the most I am getting two, anymore and there are gaps showing.

If I remember correctly I only had two that lined up and one was very slightly off, I just screwed through it and made my own holes in the end. There should be enough flex in the door card to close the gap, although it may not fully close, if you know what I mean.

To tell you the truth Imi, I honestly can't remember.........it was away at the turn of the year I fitted mine and I can only remember bits and pieces off the top of my head, I think my mount looked a bit different from that, I don't think I have the ring thing on mine. I'm 70% sure mines where flat.

Sorry I can't help you anymore mate.

Edit - Just noticed the mahoosive picture in the first page, that's the same as mine.

If you are really wanting them done and dusted today, you could buy two mdf rings from a local audio place.

I thought these were a direct replacement for the big plastic thingie.

They are a direct replacement, and you will notice that the door card does not attach to the "big plastic thingy" either. You fit the speakers and brackets behind the door card, then put the doorcard back, without screwing it to the speaker bracket.

......using the existing mounting points. They require no modification to the door card or existing speaker grill although you will need some longer mounting screws for the brackets.

As I said, i will be doing a step by step install guide next friday/saturday, but if its any help, heres a photo of mine installed from 2 years ago. Put the door card back over the top.

That's what I thought.

That came across wrong, I wasn't questioning your workmanship.

I was wondering why people were having issues with it as so many people (in the last GB) have had nothing but good things to say about these.

:)

Have a look at the photos that I posted up.......

I had time today, weather was generous so decided to get them fitted. Turned out to be a big job and I dont see how the door card will sit on top, certainly wont work with my speakers (infinity 6.5") as the speaker grill will NEVER line up with the speakers.

Wait to be corrected....happy to wait for the step by step instructions, until then, the mounts are back in their packet.

When I done mine I screwed the speaker to the bracket and then put the door card over the top. The hole where the speaker was never lined up with the new speaker but this wasn't a problem for me as I'm using the OEM covers which you can't really see through. I thried to work out how to screw them through the door card and into the bracket, but this was the only way I could see it working.
