tooquicktostop
Could you fit another electric drivers seat on the passenger side and fudge a switch I wonder ??
Gazboy
I would look at supraforums for a sale thread when someone replaces theirs for buckets. Can't be too hard for an electrician to wire up.
marc_p
I was just thinking about how to do this earlier as it's something I want to do as well.
j_jza80
Maybe try buying a LHD drivers seat?
Guest CoolsBlue
youd really need a lhd seat, if you got a driver seat from a rhd, and modded it to fit on the pass side, the controls would face the tunnel:D Edited September 5, 2008 by CoolsBlue (see edit history)

Guest Budz86
I have been thinking of doing this to, think a LHD seat is the best option so the controls are on the right side. Do you think the subframe will need changing to? Someone must have tried this? *Hits search*
Nic
I can supply new LHD drivers seat bases, they are a few £100's though new (would need to check price).
Guigsy
Wouldnt you need the cable thats under the seat also? and know where to plug it/splice it into?
Stan
Wouldnt you need the cable thats under the seat also? and know where to plug it/splice it into? I imagine it'll just be a +ve and -ve feed, so you could splice into the drivers side power supply
dangerous brain
Yeah all you need is a fused 12 volt line and you can earth it anywhere. The seat belt is mounted to the seat is it not and as such would be on the wrong side if you used a drivers seat. However maybe the base could be swapped over. Guest dangerousandy
I have thought about doing this, especially as USA spec cars have the same leather interior as the UK spec. I believe the US-spec drivers seat is what you will need along with the loom. The only thing that was of concern is that there is a 'box' under the passenger seat ( ECU or an Amp?) and was wondering if the motor assembly would foul this. I did this conversion on the MK2 Granada Ghia that I had, but that was straight forward as I just used the passenger seat out a Ghia X Granada that was banger raced! Same trim too
Gazboy
It's a very small amp.
Guest dangerousandy
It's a very small amp. Ah, like the active speaker system in the UK spec MR2. it doesn't look that small mind you...
supra steveo
i took out the stock amp and stuck an alpine in its place to power my sub not had any issues with it either (yet) but because an oem US/Euro seat is near the same i expect it to fit as for power i would just tap into the the wires that supply power to the DVRs seat and solder them to a clip

You should just be able to fit a LHD drivers side seat base onto the passenger seat, it would be a lot cheaper than transporting a complete seat.
