Stratty
No, you drive an NA, GTFO Hey... leave the NA's alone.. IF they didnt want people to own them, they wouldn't have made them..

SupraAyf
UK = probably lots of salty winters and a good chance of rust in the seams and nooks and crannies. Fresh import = usually no rust and a good chance it's done a LOT less miles, and optionally a lot newer. (Not to mention faster in the mid range with better spool and less weight..... ) That just about sums it up - well said Chris:)
Bobbeh
That just about sums it up - well said Chris:) Shall we flip that coin? Higher insurance, untraceable service history and undocumented mileage (in a lot of examples), lesser spec (weaker turbos, smaller injectors and fuel pump, chance of missing LSD to name just a few), tacky fog light, poorly done MPH conversion, crappy bits of black plastic on the rear bumper, miss fitting number plates, yellow headlights, poorly fitted JDM body kits, cloth interiors and so on and so on... My brother got a JDM import RX7 and tbh it was a dog of a car to get running right... but hey it was cheap Its great generalising isnt it! dannysupratt
Yeah but uk's are better innit!!!
Bobbeh
I dont think anyones actually said that... its just the JDM owners doing the slagging as usual
dannysupratt
its ok i was only joking as i have a uk spec, I have owned both though and they both have there advantages. I kind of like the fact that my insurance is now half what it was though lol.
Scott
When i was budgeting for a sup i wanted a UK. For 2 reasons only though, cheaper insurance and resale value. Other than that they both have their ups and downs. The major UP for me was that i could get an RZ facelift with recaro's etc for the same money as a 93/94 UK. j_jza80
Uks are better for tuning to BPU. And for some reason I think they look great in Red, unlike the imports!
Bobbeh
Why does a thread about a guy selling his car have to turn in to this repetitive bollocks every time... its like some owners have to go on the defensive if they see someone else trying to get more money for something thats different!? Scott
Uks are better for tuning to BPU. And for some reason I think they look great in Red, unlike the imports! Depends what you mean by better. If you mean faster then no chance, if you mean safer then yes i would agree.

Because, the thread count would drop catastrophically. It would be like removing porn from the internet lol.
Bobbeh
LOL true Cant wait for the day Dude rejoins, I miss having 'chats' with him about the same issue Depends what you mean by better. If you mean faster then no chance, if you mean safer then yes i would agree. Why do you say no chance? We all know the fastest cars are US specs, which have excactly the same engine specs as UK cars... so where does that leave us?
Jake
...and the bonnet scoop (which was an option in Japan anyway). It was? News to me. Uks are better for tuning to BPU. Better how?
Bobbeh
Out of the box I'd probably say they are easier for tuning as you have the injectors and pump needed for BPU. But thats as far as that argument goes for me.

I think it started by people pointing out it was over priced, which I think is fine for people to express that opinion to stop a potentially interested newbie into paying more than the odds (if thats general club opinion). Than someone stated it was a UK so was worth the premium or something like that... which would naturally open a can of worms then you know the rest. supra_aero
It was? News to me. I always thought it was, as I see many jap supras off the boat with it. Or was it not ? Clarification here needed.
Scott
Why do you say no chance? We all know the fastest cars are US specs, which have excactly the same engine specs as UK cars... so where does that leave us? Getting beat by the yanks and their downhill drag strips i guess lol. The fastest ones in the US have nothing in common with the original engine/drivetrain though. Lighter, faster spool is about it really. Think you could maybe get a useful extra 0.1 bar out of UK's but the weight would negate that straight away.

As its a UK i think it is worth a premium, just not the premium being asked in the AD.
